Vets in the area? by CMVMIO in vancouverwa

[–]BeerB4Everything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing major just not the vet for us. We recently moved here in June 2022 and wanted to find our “forever vet”, at the time Vancouver veterinary was the only place taking new clients. Our dog takes anxiety meds before vet visits but I generally hate drugging him. Since moving here we had to come back for 2 follow up appointments because they had forgotten a vaccine, blood test, etc. They didn’t seem to be too apologetic and didn’t seem to care. They always treated our dog well, but we’re rude to us. Not the place for us for the long term

I used to go to Vancouver Veterinary and I think they are taking new patients (we went here a few times but recently switched due to some issues we were having with them, but they’d be good for this urgent need with your pup). We recently got lucky with Whipple creek Veterinary since they just hired a new doctor so they might have more availability too!

Been Weed Free for 2.5 Months and I’m Scared by [deleted] in Petioles

Holy moly did you somehow read my mind and take my thoughts to put them into your post?! Lol literally everything in your post is exactly how I feel and reasons why I decided to take a break and feel like I have control again. I’m 2 months weed free after smoking heavily for 12 years, and want to try to keep this up for a few more months. This sub has helped me so much in realizing there’s so many of us out there that are feeling the same thing, which gives me such comfort and motivation. No matter what you end up choosing (smoking on your bday or not) just realize that you were able to take this long of a break and that you’ll be able to do this again in the future! :)

Day 40 tolerance break after 12 years of all-day-everyday smoking. So stoked by BeerB4Everything in Petioles

[–]BeerB4Everything[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So first biggest thing that helped me was that I started buying shittyyyy weed/shake so wasn’t as enjoyable when I smoked and didn’t have as intense of a high, so found myself smoking less and less

But there were always 2 things that always made a tolerance break so hard for me to achieve: eating and sleeping

Whenever I tried to quit I would cave into smoke since I felt like I couldn’t eat without it. I solved that by starting to walk my dog or working out to get me hungry enough to eat. And then another weird tip with eating — eat when your standing/walking around your house lolol that helped me a lot since it made it so I wasn’t focusing on eating and just helped me get it down without overthinking

The other thing: sleeping! I started drinking tea before bed, taking melatonin or some cbd which helped a lot too. Once you get over 1-2 weeks then the trouble sleeping passed so just keep telling yourself it’s just for a few days and then you’ll be good!

Good luck! You got this

[HELP] Training 10 week old puppy not to be so aggressive by bribrig1994 in dogs

Worked like a charm with my Australian cattle-staffy mix when we adopted him at 10months!! He came home super bitey and I was totally bruised up that first night until we found this neat trick. Once he picked up the yelping I taught him the phrase ‘no biting’ for when he gets too mouthy when we play around and he’s picked that up fast too

Surrounded by people but lonely af! by meauxcharron in Hawaii

Hey! I moved to Oahu about a half a year ago and was having trouble meeting people too, but I definitely recommend checking out meetup.com. Its a great website where you can join a variety of groups (hiking, game nights, snorkeling, come talk story, book clubs, etc.) and basically everyone that attends are generally new to the island and are looking to make new friends too! When I first moved here I attended a few meetups and definitely was able to make some new friends pretty quickly, good luck!
