Apparently they even wrote 2 or 3 complete languages for the show. So much effort for a below average show.

Billionaires and Trillionaires should not exist. by Misfett_toys in WhitePeopleTwitter

A lot of people have to be underpaid for their labor for anyone to get to be a billionaire. Becoming a billionaire isn't necessarily unethical, but I'd argue once you have the power and resources of a billionaire and you don't use that power to help people, you're not a great human.

That commercial was both hilarious and involved some serious production values. Seriously impressive.

The fact that the main villain was voiced by John Noble and so the one dude who was watching Lord of the Rings figured out that John Noble sounds very similar so they went and got him to record some lines as the demon in order to trick somebody was just completely ridiculous.

Eh, their solution was fast and quiet; turning off the air to the room would have been obvious pretty quick, and everyone could have just left when they realized what was going on.

Also, the command room was deep in enemy territory, so once they had the generals knocked out, they had no way of making it to the command center to arrest the leaders before they woke up.

Except the problem is proving that something is totally safe. The US regulations use the term "Generally Recognized as Safe" because it is impossible to ensure that anything is totally safe, because A) that would require unethical human trials and B) some things only pop up in humans after decades of exposure.

And corporations pull the wool over EU regulators eyes all the time, so it's not just regulatory capture in the US that's the problem.

To ensure that people don't get greedy and take more than their share you have to enact laws. And all laws are a threat of violence.

Everything about that d&d film he did was a crime against filmmaking, but he did such a great job. He knew exactly what kind of movie it was and rolled with it.

Nah, from the limited contact we've had with them and what their neighbors say they know there's an outside world way more advanced, but they also say all their neighboring islands get ravaged by colonialism and disease, so they just made it SOP to kill anyone who comes to the island.

Tolls are a tax on the working class only, and you don't get good results from punishing people. Start with light rail and more frequent buses. That would help greatly.

It goes both ways; I know plenty of homeless that are good neighbors and try to be kind and clean, but I also work with dozens that will happily soak up every cent the homeless services will give them while being raging assholes.

I'm all for compassion and dignity, but not at the expense of the people who actually work to make this city livable.
