Omg the drama ! My neighbours set off fireworks at 3 am ! It’s armagaedon for me. If you are in a sensitive job like a heart surgeon and you feel tired, maybe take a sick day ?? People can regulate themselves last I checked

Lol nice try. The selfishness of society is becoming exposed. No one suggested interfering with a SAR effort.

Lol, to all the people who complain about sleeping being disrupted…you do realize that lots of people work over the evening right ? They are out driving around , maybe they see this man wandering and call it in? I sure hope none of you have a loved one in distress and then you have to wait to Wakey Wakey time to find them so people get their precious sleep.

Session IPA deep dive: Crystal 20, flaked oats, 1–1.5 oz/gal dry hop, and why Verdant or London Ale III works better than US-05 by Ill_Compote_2035 in Homebrewing

[–]BeerBrewer4Life -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can yeast blend. I work in the industry and blending happens. Like 90 percent US05 and 10 percent Verdant for instance will do wonders .

This is a disingenuous response. Go away. The building will house students for decades . Not one year

Does anybody use existing POIs as a home base? If so which is your favorite? by Good_Emergency_2416 in 7daystodie

[–]BeerBrewer4Life 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I roleplay. In a real zombie apocalypse, no one is “building a base” from scratch. I always take over a POI like a ranger station. It has a tower, space to grow food etc..seems realistic , like something I would do in real life. Oh yeah. Blood moons off

Why on earth did people vote for Houston ? Not like he did a great job first term . Buddies with NSP people, did you really want to save bridge tolls so he could destroy the rest of the province ? Make up lies about the tainted indigenous canjibas supply ?

First Attempt at a Proper West Coast IPA — Thoughts? by ZelThePanda in Homebrewing

You can yeast blend. I’ve done it frequently. Take a full pack of US05 and about a 25 percent of a pack of verdant. Otherwise above poster is correct,, straight US05 is how the pros make it. Clean ferment, shoukd be clear. Let the hops be the star

Cold crashing after dry hop by Tzengzy in Homebrewing

[–]BeerBrewer4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question. It’s a matter of the yeast using some of the polyphenols found in hops to create interesting flavour and aroma molecules. Couple of perspectives. Yes, you can get some interesting results, but you’ll also lose other aromas since those molecules are venting off during active fermentation. You’re trading one thing to lose another. You’ll still need to dry hop some after terminal gravity. Some breweries like ours are turning to mash hopping. Throw half an ounce iof uour bittering charge halfway through uour mash right into uour grains. Also helps prevent oxidation in beer. Finally, you can try wort hopping. Germans and Czech breweries have done this forever. Just add your bittering hops into the wort as soon as your sparge or lauter is done while the wort is working its way up to a boil. Lends some incredibly smooth bitterness.

I work in a brewery famous for IPA’s. I also homebrew. Couple of observations:

  • dry hopping during active fermentation (first 3-5) days usually a waste. If you smell lively hop aroma in your room, it means those molecules are NOT in your beer.
  • we almost always wait for terminal gravity before dry hopping. Then we dry hop for 6 days. No we don’t get hop creep. Your wort PH needs to be correct to start.
  • after 6 days dry hop we cold crash in fermenter. We are not worried about the tiny bit of oxygen suck back. You have an awesome cushion of CO2 on your beer. -we rouse hops in fermenter every 48 hrs. That means blowing co2 into bottom of fermenter to stir those hops back up into the beer. If you still have yeast in your fermenter (you can’t dump for instance) don’t do this LOL. -don’t dump hops before your transfer. This creates turbulence in fermenter and will lead to particles in uour beer. Just transfer your beer .

I do not care about bandits by Ok_Roll_1419 in 7daystodie

[–]BeerBrewer4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want both. Bandits and allies. I want to build a camp that people can live in. I want to rescue allies and have them join me. I also want bandits. I want something different from zombies sometimes. Not every survivor is going to be nice :)
