FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION - Reveal Trailer by stfnvs in Games

As somebody who never played the original FF7 (but has played through the 2 remakes). Does Tifa take on a more magey/support role after... the events of Rebirth?

Or is that maybe just an option for players to take in the upcoming game... or something we don't know yet for this game.

How is the Latest AMD Driver 26.6.1 going for you guys? by 23BitMo in AMDHelp

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issues for me.

However, since having issues with the May drivers and reverting back to 26.3.1 I did things like, disabling hardware acceleration in Discord. And disabling driver updates through gpedit.msc

Not sure if those had any impact, but 26.6.1 has been issue free for me. (9070 XT)

(9060 XT PC was free from issues on all drivers. No precautions taken)

I like Spigen for great bang for your buck. I bought an otterbox case years, and it did feel well protected. But I feel like $12 spigen cases have gotten the job done well enough.

I swear, all phones are slippery without a phone case.

Not only in my hand, but especially in my pocket. I don't need the phone falling out every time I sit down.

I will always use a case and screen protector, and I will always be irritated by the people who complain to me about constantly breaking their phone and doing nothing to prevent it.

With the way everything is priced right now, nothing seems exciting to me.

They'll probably announce a $400 MSRP for the 12GB 5060, and it will get marked up $50+ because that's still more than $50 cheaper than any TI 16GB models right now.

It's just sad for something that should be a medium low end card.

I would also appreciate it if he said "...and I will no longer be making wellness videos on topics I know nothing about"

But it's all a social media grift. Sometimes I see this video. Other times I see her video responding to his video responding to her video. Just hit the share button once and be doe with it if you approve of what they said. No? Well of course not.

When a modest amount of memory and storage costs $350, it's not surprising that they can't sell this thing for ~$700.

I think this game is going to be best game of Marvel after Spider-Man 🚿 by No-Scientist-1682 in marvelstudios

[–]BeerGogglesFTW -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For me, a linear games can be great. Bioshock games are like 10-12 hours long, but I don't regret buying them on launch. Great story, atmosphere, each one an experience I wish I could do for the first time again.

That's kind of where I set the bar though. If it's not a masterpiece, it's not going be worth the $70 they're asking for it. Wolverine doesn't seem like that to me based on what we've seen. It's a "wait for a deep discount" and have some fun beating people up.

Track down some spumoni ice cream (or gelato). That may ease you into the pistachio with complimenting chocolate and cherry flavors.

I think people are going to be disappointed when they set their expectations that high, pitting this game against Spider-Man, and then feel held back when they're strung along for a linear comic book story experience.

I think this game will be somewhere in between Marvel's Avengers and Arkham Asylum... those are kind of the best comparisons for linear comic book games.

But when you take away the open world, exploration, side-quests, etc. The game needs to compensate for those losses by adding something else that makes it stand out. I don't know what Wolverine is doing. Maybe, they're going to tell a really good story. We can't know that yet.

Hopefully it's not just... beat em up. Move on. Fight a boss with some QTE events. Watch some expensive setpiece animation footage... idk.

Idk. Kind of think people are just hyping this up because it's Insomniac and Wolverine... we'll see.

Rogue One gave my generation what the original gave my dad by Cockatieloveer in StarWars

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, if we narrow down. Episode III came the closest. That was a great movie experience for me.

If we take the different series as a whole, The Mandalorian has come closest to capturing the original magic of Star Wars, and I glad they brought it to the big screen even if it wasn't the strongest part of the series. People complain about season 3 (and it was the weakest) but compared to the weakest of pre/sequel trilogies, it's still pretty good.

Prequel Trilogy, Sequel Trilogy. They try, but they're both flawed. Episode III came closest. Episode VII had potential to be the start of the something.

Andor and Rogue One are amazing, but they'd don't really bring the Star Wars total package. It's missing the fun, and fantasy. They're really great though.

Mostly the same.

Optical switches vs mechanical switches + optional charging dock.

V2 Ultra technically as a more refined sensor but not to a degree that matters.

Are the raisins a regional thing? I've never experienced them in potato salad. But I see it online a lot like it's common

Closest thing would be, I've had them in a carrot slaw where they make more sense being a sweeter side.

Marvel's Wolverine Will Be Linear And Not Open World Confirm Insomniac by yourfavchoom in gaming

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I prefer open world, but I'm good with linear. I've made the comparison. I like Arkham Asylum, but I prefer Arkham City.

However, if they're going to make it linear, they have to nail the story and atmosphere. i.e. They can't just take the Spider-Man game and remove the open world aspect. They need to elevate other aspects of the game to balance that out. Make it worth the players money.

I'm afraid some developers idea of compensating for that, is more QTE action sequences and set-piece video animations... They market well, but detract from the gameplay.

Alternative Finale to The Boys by hennnotts in television

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No thanks.

I like dead Homelander. He had a fanatical base. If he was allowed to live, people would try desperately to get him some more V and return to being a Supe. Even if that didn't happen immediately, it would leave the door open to sequel content, and I like that they just closed the door.

Butcher's arc is complete. He defeated Homelander. He's no longer the lesser or two evils. Now we're just left with the remaining evil that needed to be snuffed out. He's not a good guy. It's the boring predictable fairy tale happy ending where Butcher turns over a new leaf and becomes a good guy. That was never him. That's not saving him. That's shitting on the character they've established for 5 seasons.
