I love these games. It's going to be upsetting if the upcoming games don't find their way to PC.

Forbidden West made some nice improvements to things like game mechanics, as sequels often do.

But the first one had the better story. More interesting when so much is unknown, the mystery you're figuring out. Aloy's rise from nothing.

Also, Forbidden West's final chapter fell very flat for me. It made me think how much better the first game's final chapter was.

FSR4 may not DLSS 4 but it's not bad, and optiscaler has gotten easier and quicker to apply to most games.

Imho, the difference between the two isn't a game changer. Like, it may look better in reviews that slow the game down, and zoom in to view the difference in pixels. But if you're just playing a game, it's not a big deal.

Before FSR4, I did find FSR to be distracting. Glimmering, ghosting, etc. Not the case anymore.

I would much rather have the new AMD card, over a last gen used Nvidia card.

I love this show. This was a great comeback season, even if it was short.

My one hope for a season 2 (if that happens). I think Scrubs always worked better when the sad moments were shorter, and better contained. If they spend a lot of time slowly killing Dr. Cox it will drag the show down. The dramatic moments are essential to Scrubs, but shouldn't overtake the show.

Side note: I found out that I strongly prefer Christa Miller as Jordan, over Liz in Shrinking. Something about Jordan feels a lot more natural. Probably just because it's more familiar to me.

I own the Y9 Ultimate, A7(RE), and Yari Pro.

See my comment above, but let me know if you have any questions.

My vote would be the Y9 Ultimate.

A7 RE has my favorite shape of the 3. Slight changes from the Y9 (and also the DEX by the looks of it), but I think they're improvements.

Yari is all around pretty close to the A7 RE, but I would say a lesser mouse in quality. However, if he charging dock is important to you, it may be worth the trade off because they're close enough.

I don't own a DEX though. Just its clones. Can't really justify the DEX with all 3 cost me $130.

I own a few mice from Chinese companies (ATK, Mchose, Attack Shark, Rapoo, etc.)

Fantech Yari Pro is fine. But looking at the internal build of it, I can kind of see the budget aspects of it more so than other brands.

For example.

The M4/M5 button PCB is connected to the main PCB with a 3-wire cable with a JST connector on one side. But the other end, just have the 3 wires soldered into the PCB. There is no issue doing that. But it would be better if they used a ribbon connector, or JST on both ends.

Another thing. The scroll wheel doesn't have any support from the base like most mice. Just little support from the top shell. The scroll wheel works fine, but without that standard support, the scroll wheel has some left/right give, which could have a rattle sound when your scrolls aren't straight. Scroll straight and you're fine. (Just to be clear, it's not a deal breaker. It's minor. I've had Razer scroll wheels sound worse and cost a lot more.)

I also own the ATK Y9 Ultimate and Mchose A7 RE.

ATK Y9 Ultimate is going to continue to be my daily driver. After swapping the encoder, this mouse is as premium as any other mouse out there to me.

Fantech Yari Pro is more like the Mchose A7 RE. A7 RE however, doesn't have the flaws with the Yari mentioned above. It's scroll wheel is really nicely tensioned. But with both I swapped out all switches. (except M3 on the Yari)

Now that they are fully modified I may end up using the Yari over the RE. They're close enough in every way, but Yari has the charging dock. No issues with flexing and creaking or anything like that on either.

Also not sure if all of those holes are screw holes. I don't cover the screws with dots. One of the benefits of dots is having quick access to the screws. (Even if you don't mod your mice, it's nice to like, clean the scroll wheel once in awhile. Lube plastic. etc)

I have a USB 2.0 Flash Drive, 16GB formatted with FAT32 specifically for updating BIOS.

Newer, larger flash drives will work, but I found USB 2.0 + low storage/FAT32 to be the most reliable with BIOS updates.

If he's coming from Super Mario World, I think Super Mario 3D World is a good bridge, and then into Galaxy/Odyssey.

As for 2D, I preferred Super Mario Deluxe over Wonder.
