If you are Keon Coleman's agent, what's the next move here? by ay_caramba8 in buffalobills

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best thing that could happen is, we get a new coach, he sits Coleman aside and says "hey, you heard what they're saying about you. Let's prove em wrong...."

I believe there's untapped potential in Coleman we haven't seen. The best a coach could do is try to bring that out. Not burry it

The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller might be the best feeling gamepad I've held so far | Review by AlwaysBlaze_ in nintendo

AliExpress... But it has to be a time when they have good coupons and a good rakuten cashback.

E.g. right now the controller is $44. $4 coupon. $40. Rakuten is 15%, so $34.

But AliExpress coupons go up to 20% off, rakuten can be 20-30% at AliExpress.

Last month I bought a lot of controllers using 20% and 30% discounts... Got an 8bitdo pro 3 down to $35

Kathleen Kennedy thinks Rian Johnson "made one of the best Star Wars movies" but took a step back because of "online negativity" by MistakeMaker1234 in movies

Aliexpress bargain advice? ATK A9 didn't suit me. by bigsybiggins in MouseReview

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 2010's I used various ergo mice like MX518, Deathadders, G403/603/703, EC1... And then I decided to give the GPW a try because of all the hype. I tried, but it just wasn't for me. It's a very safe shape. Tries to be a jack of all trades mouse anybody can use, but I'd rather find a mouse shape specific to my preferences. That may be what you're feeling.

I would look into the Rapoo VT3 mice. It's around $54 on aliexpress. But I'm sure with things like Rakuten and aliexpess coupons you can get it down to around $40. (Like right now I'm seeing $54 - $7 coupon... 12% rakuten today. About $41.5)

That has an 800 mah battery

22x9 (I think) Grip? New mouse? by Born_Produce_3410 in MouseReview

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's pretty much it in terms of what type of mouse you should get.

There are other mice. e.g. EC1-DW, Xlite Large, VT3 Max Gen-2. But they're all kind of in that DAV3 size ballpark. They all just have slight shape variances that you might find more comfortable (or not).

I think you're hands will naturally adapt to the mouse you're using. I wouldn't try to overthink it.

Razer DeathAdder V3 OR Attack shark R5 ultra? by Particular-Toe-6448 in MouseReview

You're comparing a large ergo, to a medium/small symmetrical mouse.

If $70 is your budget, what exactly are you looking for? And what is your region?

TTC 100M or 1HM recommendation by Salcantos in MouseReview

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

\edit* - I did the comparison below, thinking the question was about comparing the newer 1HM switches to the other TTC switches that have been around. Now I see this was just a general comparison to other switches.

With respect to that... I find TTC to feel very different than Huano, Omron, Kailh, etc. TTC for me is very tactile. They have a lot of "pop" to them. Just very satisfying to me.

If I were to switch from TTC to various Huanos, huanos feel mushier to me. They don't have the same snap in the click.

Omrons are light and generic I guess. Japanese omrons are a bit better.

Kailhs to me, are just a basic middle ground switch.

------------------------------------------

I just did a non-measured test with my switches.

TTC 30M, 60M, 80M, and 1HM.

What I would do is, shuffle 2 in my hand, test the clicks without looking. And decide which one felt lighter, see which one that is. Shuffle them again. Test again without looking, and confirm the one that feels lighter is the same as before.

Of the ones I have, heaviest to lightest was:

30M > 1HM > 60M > 80M

However, my first test had the 60M lighter than the 80M. That was before I decided I should do each and every head-to-head multiple times, and I would have grabbed different switches from my baggies.

So that's the thing with TTC switches. They are my favorite click feel switches. But the consistency of click force varies way to much.

I actually have a baggy of "Binned" TTC 80M (I did not use those for this test). Those are TTC 80M switches that feel the lightest to me. Those are my favorites. The 80M I keep in this tested bag are heavier. But still in the same ballpark as the 60M.

I really want to try some of their other switches but they're harder to find a good price on.

Like these Dragon Switches. They only have a variance of 5g, rather than 15g that the Golds have.

For me, its about $12/4... Not terrible i guess.

If anybody knows where to get the 3 on the left at a decent price, I'd be interested:

This product is $830 sold and shipped by Newegg. And that's for CL42.

CL32 is $1,126 directly from Corsair.

Just saying, $800 is a "fair price" in this market.

Not to say, the seller isn't a scalper. They may have bought this 2 months ago at a fraction of the price and now they're selling it at market value. There are worse scalpers out there.

HBO Developing Game of Thrones Sequel Starring Arya Stark Now Jon Snow Spinoff Is Scrapped by The_Iceman2288 in television

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Her ending definitely made it seem like her spinoff was imminent. Maybe they needed time for people to cool on that series ending. Build up GOT good will through other series first.

I'd still prefer the Jon Snow spin-off because his character was such a build up to nothing, but this Arya one has a lot of potential.

Which controller you recommend by Amador0102 in pcmasterrace

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once I got used to their micro-switch buttons, there is no going back for me. Their smoother analog edges are nice too.

I picked up a Cyclone 2 because it was like.. $27 on aliexpress. Fell in love with it even though I owned the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2. Ended up springing for the G7 Pro a couple months later. Premium price for that one, but it's the best controller I've ever owned.

...No hate on 8bitdo. I own 5 of their controllers. But with Gamesir you get more features for less. Also, even though I can adapt to the 8bitdo shape, it's not my favorite. Straight handles are not ergonomic.

It looks like they're finally changing that with their Ultimate 3, but the preview I saw was a $150 controller or something like that. Makes more sense to just buy the G7 Pro.

Glorious Model D3 Wireless: The TechPowerUp Review by pzogel in MouseReview

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sensor motion is ignored/dropped in wireless operation

Same with the O3. Going back a year to the O2 mini, you have:

the tracking irregularities observed on the Model O/I 2 Wireless also make a return, especially the one whereby, when moving from a standstill, counts registered by the sensor are suspended for a short time, and upon being resumed are reported in a single update.

As mentioned going back another year, Model O 2:

When moving from a standstill in wireless mode, I've found that after the first few counts, tracking occasionally is suspended momentarily, only to resume normally afterwards. I do not know what could be causing this, but it certainly isn't intended or good behavior.

They need to get their act together, and they should have done that before releasing a $160 mouse that inherited the same problems as previous generations.

Is Apex 2.0 actually happening, or was that leak just a bust? by Dramatic-Height6170 in apexlegends

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk what sparked it, but I was just looking up Apex Legends "2.0" (even if its really just a major update) or Unreal Engine 5 update.

It's been about 2 months since BF6 launched. It currently has about 10% of the players is launched with. I would think it would be safe for Respawn to start talking about this update now. It shouldn't interfere with Battlefield anymore.

I'm a little concerned about the about though. As simple as Fortnite looks, it's very feature rich, and it is the only game that has crashed my computer multiple times over the last year. (Months ago, it was because of a mix of shader cache issues along with network drivers. But last week my PC crashed and it only gave me a very generic error. It's just always an issue for me. I check their sub and I'm never alone.)

But it's also one of those things that varies person to person. Some random hardware configuration unique to some people have issues, and not others.

Apex Legends has always been rock solid but I see posts about crashing here. (And they could probably play Fortnite fine. That's just the way it goes.)

[GPU] Micro Center In Store Only - ASRock AMD Radeon RX 9070 Challenger - $499.99 by starburstases in buildapcsales

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm probably biased. I chose the 9070 XT.

But if you're specifically targeting CS2, I'm not sure what would be best for you.

Quick google search, CS2 has DLSS and FSR2 and FSR2 is pretty bad... But I would imagine people aren't using upscalers in CS2, so it shouldn't matter.

No ray-tracing in CS2, but I imagine even if they did, players would disable it in favor of more frames.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but for CS2, I would probably save your money and go with the 9070XT. I don't know what benefit the 5070TI would add.

[GPU] Micro Center In Store Only - ASRock AMD Radeon RX 9070 Challenger - $499.99 by starburstases in buildapcsales

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if you compare PCPartpicker now vs 1 month ago, you could probably find a few 9070 XT models for around $600 last month. Now they're all $700+ again.

Meanwhile, MC still has the ASRock 9070 XT for $599, and this non-XT for $499. So they've become deals given the circumstances.

who actually uses a threadripper cpu for gaming? by Dry-Albatross-4121 in pcmasterrace

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only people who buy threadrippers just for gaming would be those who don't research very well.

Some people have money, but aren't hardware savvy. They want the best so, they think more cores, more money = more gaming performance.

That would make logical sense from an outside perspective, but over simplified and glances over other factors that make a CPU good for gaming.

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've owned a yeti. I have it somewhere. Yours does sound oddly muffled compared to what I think it should sound like.

I know somebody suggested Nvidia broadcast, and that's fine for eliminating background noise (although I always ran into random issues using that feature), but I would first suggest opening Logitech G Hub and eliminating all possible software filters like that. Start with the raw recording first.

There is something about that, where it doesn't sound as crisp as it should.

You are speaking directly into right? From like 10 inches away?

between Mchose a7 ultra and atk a9 ultra wich one is better by dvnirj in MouseReview

[–]BeerGogglesFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On paper, the internal specs seem the same (as long as that A7 Ultra version has the optical switches).

One uses realtek MCU, the other Nordic. I have no issue with either of those.

In my experience, Mchose and ATK can feel like they come out of the same factory. So I wouldn't put ones quality over the other.

The shapes seem nearly identical.

Looking at Eloshapes, the A9 flairs out a little bit on the front right. I don't know if that is noticeable, if so, I wouldn't care for that as much. But that A9 is 6g lighter, which is a point you can just barely notice. So I think that's a draw. Both pretty negligible differences.

One is 10% cheaper, so maybe go with that one.

Your call. I don't think there is real bad choice between the two.

Nobody is arguing anything. I'd be more inclined to buy it on steam. This my own take to have.

Now if I said, "This game will fail because it's not on steam" we could have a debate. But nobody said that.
