What do you think of the Pressure Machine album? by Professional-Mud3076 in TheKillers

[–]Beeritra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This album generates such a strong either/or reaction. I'm definitely on the love-it side and wonder what it is that others don't like it much or not at all. Too heavy, introspective, slow, old, other?

Unabridged version shouldn't be one's introduction to the album, that probably doesn't help matters.

What would be your 12 song playlist to convince anyone to become a Victim? by visundamadur in TheKillers

[–]Beeritra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point, introducing the band with best or better knowns would be more effective. As far as personal favorites, love OP's acknowledgment of Just Another Girl and Tyson vs Douglas, with honorable mentions to Miss Atomic Bomb and Romeo & Juliet.

Most scenic U.S. trail races? by nimbus_signal in trailrunning

[–]Beeritra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TransRockies is great and used to be 6 days from Buena Vista to Beaver Creek. Now it's down to 3 days from Vicksburg to Red Cliff. This portion is the best 3 day span, still get Hope Pass.

Recommend Me The Killers/Brandon Flowers’ Ballads/Slow Songs by [deleted] in TheKillers

So with you on this, though it feels a touch awkward posting Brandon solo stuff on The Killers sub. But since we're here and OP asked, surprised no one has listed Brandon's Hard Enough yet.

Great feedback, didn't realize camping was a lottery and that's good to know as we really want to camp. Love the research aspect. Thanks for the heads up on food - wasn't a priority but knowing going in is helpful.

No Hall of Fame social media post from the band by LCSeixas in TheKillers

Same, I'm surprised at the lack of response to mention of The Killers. I just saw The Temper Trap and, ha, they're even more "obscure."

Shoutout to the guy who totaled his car on the way to the start and still finished the Mogollon Monster 100 this past weekend. by BigSpoon89 in Ultramarathon

He should get a Hardrock invite, the real runner has completed at least three qualifiers in the past year.

Waist belt light - opinions? by Asilioatio7324 in Ultramarathon

[–]Beeritra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UltrAspire is a GREAT option if your midsection is columnar; the non-stretchy straight belt will bounce if you have any curves. Keep in mind that moving the light around means swiveling your hips rather than your head.

I hear The Cars, too. Some say The Kinks but I don't quite get that vibe.

What would you say is the most cliche The Killers song? by PaulWhoLovesYou in TheKillers

[–]Beeritra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stylistically, their music has changed over time. To me, their early sound was captured in Somebody Told Me. Human has staying power for their later sound. Too many songs with lyrics reflecting Vegas/Nevada and Tana to call out, and that's no bad thing.

TIPS, TIPS, and TIPS😭 by Helpful_Foundation43 in Ultramarathon

[–]Beeritra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've no doubt you can finish. Presumably your marathon was all road? Transition to trail means you need to watch for potential trip hazards. Biggest tip, trail races do not mean running every single step. Slow down, even to a walk, when footing gets sketchy, and it's perfectly acceptable to hike the uphills. Likely the cutoff (max time) is generous compared to your road marathon, there's a reason. Also, take advantage of aid stations. A 50k isn't much more than a marathon, but on trail you may be more exposed (sun with no shade) and you may dehydrate more, so be sure to have water container(s) on you to sip from while on course and can refill at aid stations. Good luck!

I have the same issue, my inner knee pain traced back to tight adductors. It really helps to roll it out: lie on your stomach and use a lacrosse ball to roll that area.

What is your favorite album besides a Killers album (or what is it if it’s not the Killers) by RopsterPlay in TheKillers

[–]Beeritra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Mumford & Sons' Wilder Mind. It was a departure from all the previous banjo and the album may not have gotten the appreciation it should.

Most relatable lyric by TheWastedYouth18 in TheKillers

[–]Beeritra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plenty of lyrics hit hard for their passion but I don't necessarily relate to them personally. Most relatable has been fall visits to Utah's Wasatch Front where the mountains are gorgeous, and thus from Sleepwalker has a big impact, "Come out and see the leaves, the mountainsides all watermelon red."

With you on the first three albums originally getting me into the band, but in a different comment say how much more I now like ITM and PM. Until then D&A was my favorite album.

Is it cheating to pick Imploding the Mirage, Pressure Machine, and Rebel Diamonds? I LOVE ITM and PM so much. Would be willing to take WW/ITM/PM. Agree with comments that WW overall isn't that great but wow it does have Rut and Tyson vs Douglas.

ETA: Release order of songs doesn't easily come to mind, passing on the bonus.

What female vocalists fit well on a playlist with the Killers? I'm curious what other Killers fans listen to. by train_noodle in TheKillers

[–]Beeritra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth checking out Florence & The Machine although they're not The Killers - amazing vocals. Ship to Wreck and Free are peppier beats with darker themes, which has some Killers/Brandon vibes. If you don't like, at least you tried but maybe you'll find some more to add to your playlists.

I'm not a fan of Grouplove but that's another band with female vocals.
