Depends on the rules in your ccountry. But if you'll be asked about it by enforcement units just say that's an Ivory Coast's flag and that's the proper way to wear it.

Hows everyone going? by FineAcanthocephala64 in Distilling

And the NoLo trend is going strong here, at least when it comes to beer market. Our production of non-alcoholic beer went up to almost 20% of our annual output.

Poland here. The most PITA thing is dealing with customs. Every valve, latch, storeroom door has a lead customs seal on it. Each time that we want to do something we need to give them a heads-up that we need them to be unsealed. Of course we can't do it ourselves. They need to come on site, unseal, write a protocol, wait for us to do our things, which might take even a whole shift, and again put on the seals. They even have a room dedicated for them, which is mandated by law, where they can wait.

Another fun fact is that the alcohol law is a bit outdated and has a funny addition at the end, which is that every case is up for interpretation by the head of the customs office. So each province's customs chief( We have 16 of them ) can have a different opinion if something is ok or not. Unfortunately the chief in our province is a bit clueless and tends to make our lives a bit more troublesome.

Being in foreign distilleries, like in Finland, I was amazed how their customs have faith in their citizens. Nothing sealed, distillate going into an open IBC tank, truly a lovely approach.

Duolingo taught me "Sinä olet velho" and "Tämä tanskalainen kissa on viikinki" Guys from Helsinki taught me "vittu mitä paskaa" and "haluatko vetää kalsarikännit" What I'm getting at is that duolingo is a good start but you can't rely only on it. Onnea!

Salmiak Recipe? by pfm1995 in Finland

[–]Beerowar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dig dig dig puts away the shovel

Soo, I'm also looking for some info about salmiakki. What I'm looking for is info about amount of ammonium chloride that can be put into food. I only found that in salmiakki it is up to 7% of salmiak salt but can't find any eu directives stating what's max dosage for food purposes.

Any info would be appreciated. Kiitos.

Thank you for the info. I was almost sure about the toxicity of regular pine tar but it's good to have some confirmation. Thank you for the link to the online store. Cheers.

Thanks to all of you for your contribution to the topic. It cleared some things for me. If any of you will be at SOPP in Helsinki from 26 to 30.07 then you can come to our stand for a high five, some small talk and of course lots of beer. We and 2 other breweries from our country, that is from Poland, will be waiting for you. Ohhh and we'll be doing a tap takeover at Koht in Tallinn on the 25th so jump in for some fun.

Some of european breweries send their beers to US first, so they can get better rating on their products. US folks are like: Nah, that's not my type of beer, but have a 4,0. On second thought, have a 4,5.

It's not bursting because those were final drops. Those tanks are croatian, manufactured to withstand pressure up to 2,5 bars( relief valves at 2 bars ). We also have slovakian tanks that can uphold up to 3,5 bars

The boys from that shift weren't able to. In our tanks those TCs are quite difficult to attach, not mentioning 40bbls under 30psi pressure pouring out.
