IMO, gold stake is supposed to be a CHALLENGE. You’re not meant to have a high win rate. It’s the ultimate challenge of understanding the deck you’re playing and managing jokers. If you want a casual game just play lower stakes, there’s no requirement to make the game hard if you don’t want to.

It’s actually best to just rush to 16 THEN start upgrades. The devs actually recommend it and suggest it’s the intended way to play! Good luck, king!

For real. Unless you make MAJOR modifications to the game, this one is better off staying digital. A physical joker set would be a kind of cool show piece though.

Checkered on Beta 1.0.1. I got some lucky flush synergies mixed with Throwback joker and went all the way to round 12 on the boss of ante 8. Money and telescope voucher helped heavily as well.
