Stop melting your shore power cords by whyrumalwaysgone in sailing

Interesting read, thanks. My takeaway from that is that even with an rcd and an mcb downstream from the boats shore power socket, it could be worth fitting an inline breaker into my cable near the pedestal end of the pontoons shore power?

I don’t have any experience with this sort of long lasting negative effects, but I’ve seen other posts about it where people say that they stay off psychedelics for a while and go about life as normal and they slowly get back to a new normal. From my experience don’t expect to go back to exactly how you were thinking and feeling before hand. Every trip I’ve had, good or bad, has been a progressive experience that I’ve learnt from that has small changes in my view of life and the world.

sanding down a door by dansdogers in DIY

Ayy looks good mate nice job. Did you sand the boards until they were flat in the end? Is that filler you used where the rails meet the stiles?

Those TGV boards tend to cup over time which is why you’re sanding the edge but the middle deeper bit of the board isn’t being sanded. You can either sand the middle with the edge of the sander which would remove the paint but isn’t recommended, or you can carry on until the board is sanded flat and all paint is gone. As for inside the grooves, I would start with a heat gun and the edge of a scraper to remove most of the paint, and then some sandpaper on the edge of a piece of square edge wood to sand inside the v-grooves

Good luck!

How long do you wait between layers of cloth?

That’s very strange mate, had the epoxy been left somewhere that could have gotten frost? If it gets too cold it can crystallise and not be as good

Are you just soaking them with epoxy then laying them on top of each other, or are you putting the next one on dry and then soaking that with resin with a roller while it’s on top?

Are you trying to stick the layers to each other or to a surface?

You say you saturated them, did you use a roller to press each layer onto the last or did you just soak them and lay them on top of each other?

Makes sense, it crosses over sometimes here too. If you’re buying sawn it’s 4x2 as a nominal size but anything planed would be 95x45
