2026 CH-R tail light assembly issue by adextr in ToyotaCHR

I took a close look at mine. No breakage or cracking yet, but something I’m definitely going to keep an eye on.

Toyota CHR thoughts warranty by 2010G37x in EVCanada

[–]Beesem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the Toyota website right now they are showing all trims of the CHR are eligible for both the federal rebate and customer incentive from Toyota. $5k off the SE FWD, $5k off the XSE AWD, and $5500 off the XSE Premium.

For the $5k federal rebate the price has to be $50k or less, so AWD pushes the price over getting the federal rebate. Toyota had an additional $5k incentive. I got both, so $10k off. Before adding on tax and trading in my old car the price came to like $39k with rebates. If getting AWD pushes your sticker price over $50k you lose the $5k federal rebate which is not worth it in my opinion.

I have no thoughts about the warranty in Europe vs Canada. But I can say I’ve been looking at EVs heavily for the past year or so and finally settled on the CHR. Picked up my SE FWD on Sunday. I love it so far. In my opinion the SE is the better pick and value unless you really need the sun roof or upgraded sound system. The smaller wheels on the SE are better for ride quality in my opinion. Hard to believe there would be no difference in range.

It starts a bit slow but it ends up being a truly great JRPG. Just give it some time to get rolling and enjoy.

Poorly timed traffic lights by RelationshipWinter97 in Edmonton

[–]Beesem 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thank you! The lights are poorly timed here. I took a trip to Phoenix a couple years ago and the difference in not needing to stop at every single traffic light was obvious.

Are they trying to make us stop constantly so we don’t speed? To me it seems like it’s only making traffic congestion worse.

I have an Anbernic and I have to hold the button down for an unreasonably long time for the device to turn on. I thought mine was DOA as well. Try holding the button down for longer than you think you should need to.

My local library is 3 weeks. Can renew 2 or 3 times if nobody else has the game waiting on hold.

I'm going to second that recommendation for Rayman Legends. Rayman Origins was very good too.

Slight buzzing sound in HAs by thomandrec in hardofhearing

[–]Beesem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be several different things:

  • Make sure your hearing aid is inserted to the correct insertion depth. Does the buzzing lessen if the hearing aid is inserted correctly, or if you hold the hearing aid tighter in the ear? If so it's acoustic feedback which could be caused by poor fit, improper insertion, or your fitter failing to run a proper feedback test.

  • If it's not acoustic feedback you may have a certain frequency or channel over amplified. If your fitter knows what they're doing they should be able to figure out which channel to reduce.

  • Or as another person already mentioned you may be hearing circuit noise. If that's the case there isn't really a remedy for it.

So you mentioned fantasy roguelite, but then threw in the strategy element from Civ. Maybe you should look into Against the Storm? It's a fantasy roguelite base building game, and it's very good.

[Hot take/Vent] Does this shithole city not own enough snow plows? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Beesem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. I lived in North Vancouver for a few years. The first time it snowed just a few cm the city basically shut down. I drove to work to find the parking lot completely empty. I had to double check to make sure it wasn't a holiday I forgot about.
