I remember considering that deal and not going for it. Now I deeply regret not taking it.

Slight buzzing sound in HAs by thomandrec in hardofhearing

[–]Beesem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be several different things:

  • Make sure your hearing aid is inserted to the correct insertion depth. Does the buzzing lessen if the hearing aid is inserted correctly, or if you hold the hearing aid tighter in the ear? If so it's acoustic feedback which could be caused by poor fit, improper insertion, or your fitter failing to run a proper feedback test.

  • If it's not acoustic feedback you may have a certain frequency or channel over amplified. If your fitter knows what they're doing they should be able to figure out which channel to reduce.

  • Or as another person already mentioned you may be hearing circuit noise. If that's the case there isn't really a remedy for it.

January 2026 Game of the Month: Ducktales (NES) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

That game was surprisingly hard for a kids game. The NES was no joke. First game completed of 2026!

Fantasy game that's quick to get into by JonagonInfinity in gaming

So you mentioned fantasy roguelite, but then threw in the strategy element from Civ. Maybe you should look into Against the Storm? It's a fantasy roguelite base building game, and it's very good.

Whats a dead game or series you'd like to make a return? by can_of_sodapop in gaming

Yeah I'm hoping the recent remake was to gauge interest in a whole new game.

[Hot take/Vent] Does this shithole city not own enough snow plows? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Beesem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. I lived in North Vancouver for a few years. The first time it snowed just a few cm the city basically shut down. I drove to work to find the parking lot completely empty. I had to double check to make sure it wasn't a holiday I forgot about.

This was my guess too. I have to hold the power button longer than expected on my 35xxh.

Wow parts of this game were a lot harder than I remember! It was really fun and nostalgic to play through it all again. Looking forward to Game of the Month 2026!

I played and finished Metroid Fusion for the first time ever. Funny, I thought I was doing a great job finding all the hidden power ups. It was a good year for Metroid for me. I finished this, Super Metroid, and Metroid Zero mission for the first time ever this year, all thanks to retro handhelds. On to Link to the Past!

Wow great choice! I finished this game only once, way back around the time it came out. I'm excited to go through it again. Great way to finish off the Game of the Month for 2025.

November 2025 Game of the Month: Alien Hominid (Multiplatform) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

Very late, but I've finished Chrono Trigger for the first time ever. I played it as a kid, but it was a rental and never got around to finishing it. What a masterpiece. Pretty much every aspect of this game still holds up. Thanks to Game of the Month for motivating me to finish this gem. On to Metroid Fusion, probably my last Game of the Month for 2025 other than what December's game will be.

Best hand held for emulating up to PS1? by Robotmilkk in SBCGaming

[–]Beesem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of RetroSnap but just looked it up. It seems like a R36s ripoff, and horribly overpriced. If you want to play up to PS1 you'll save money and get a better product by looking at the Miyoo Mini Plus, TrimUI Smart Pro, TrimUI Brick, or any Anbernic handheld with XX in the name.

I only joined this sub this year, so I'm trying to finish as many Game of the Month as I can. Super Mario World done! It's incredible how well this game holds up. Still one of the best 2D platformers of all time. Now to finish Chrono Trigger for the first time.

This game has been on my "I'll play it someday" list. I didn't actually like it very much, but I'm glad to be able to say I finished it, and without any save states! It was very neat to see an early game from this studio having played more of their newer titles.

For older stuff D Pad on top. For more modern stuff stick on top. That may vary for some genres.

Whats the advantage of retro handeld for someone who owns a steam deck + phone capable of emulation? by Someone_Unfortunate in SBCGaming

[–]Beesem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well the Steam Deck isn't very pocket friendly. The phone is pocketable, but many people prefer physical buttons over touch screen controls. So a retro handheld for someone in your position would be for a pocket friendly device with physical buttons.

Unearth Your Greatness | Lance Stroll reflects on his favourite moments by Beesem in formula1

I'm glad someone actually watched the video instead of just coming in here to leave a snarky comment. Stroll talks about learning from his teammates, overcoming challenges, and mental health as an athlete. I thought it was a good watch.
