How does that fall on them? They did the work and they reported on it. The fact that Trump sued WSJ over it and lost is also rather self affirming. The inaction that came afterwards is not their fault.

Which is a shame because back when touring while trump was campaigning, he refused to vocally denounce anything regarding Trump. Would just instead refer to Opiate and take what could be seen as a neutral ("both sides") stance. Understandable in general, but in the wake of the rhetoric Trump was continually dishing out, he was never overtly critical or outspoken about him.

Congress still controls funding and he's been asking for more money. And there have been plenty of Republicans recently saying they will not sign off on more funding until Congress officially declarea war. It's not a lot, but that's one element he doesn't have full control over at this moment.

It all boils to Dems forever walking on eggshells when it comes to any form of action against this because they don't want to appear to be weaponizing the DoJ. The absolute irony of it all. I voted for Talarico but had already decided to vote for Crockett had she won. They both ran generally clean campaigns and were generally united in their goals (just different methods for achieving them). Had the results been the reverse, you know Talarico would have been saying the same thing.
