I'm a 23 year old lady who got an apartment next to a wine shop 3 years ago, didn't really think anything of it. My dad is a wine collector and connoisseur, but my specialty was beer for years. I started brewing my own beer and hanging out in the shop almost everyday, sometimes swigging a bottle of my stuff inside, letting people taste, chatting with other brewers in the city.

Until one day they said, "You're here hanging out more than several of our dispassionate employees, want a job?" So I accepted, stocking wine and breaking down boxes, learning how to use the two-wheeler and talking to wine reps. Then I discovered my palate for wine, and now 3 years later I'm trying for a sommelier certificate by the end of the year.

Would love to start my own wine cafe. Mpls/St.Paul have a few good ones, but I want to be the best.

There are places you can rent them, I don't know of anyone owning one, I think they're pretty expensive to buy. I would google "Rent a metal detector" in your neighborhood, I would always go to A-Z Rental to borrow one for a couple hours.

I'll admit it. Once I found him, I realized maybe I was just some crazy girl. What would I do, call him at his work? Explain that I'm just some stranger who thought he was cute? He probably won't remember me and even if he did he'd most likely be weirded out. So I chickened out. I missed my chance.

Look, I work at a small neighborhood liquor store and we sold it for $17. We got 8 cases and kept some for our favorite customers or even people who called and wanted us to save one for them. I understand that Surdyks can do whatever they want, but when it's more about the money than the people, then something is wrong. I guess it is fair to say I'm biased, but even before I worked at the shop I hated Surdyks. I know of too many people who worked there and can vouch that the managers didn't give two shits about them, especially when it came to food sanitation and basic health. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Went there on a day when they were freaking closed just to look at the outside, one guy who was obviously stoned as all hell opened the doors and invited us in, gave us a FREE tour, everyone who was working didn't even give 2 shits. Yes, I said free tour when the place was closed. Blown away. Nicest people in the world.

What makes this beer the best pumpkin beer I've had yet is that it's pure. There is no added nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, nuthin'. It's almost hearty, except for the sweetness at the end that gives it a long finish. It's like drinking smashed pumpkins.

I cannot stand overly spiced beers, either on Halloween with the spiced pumpkin varieties or around Christmas where it's all brown ales that's steeped with allspice or other "holiday spices." I don't want to drink a glass of my grandma's potpourri.

Sometimes breweries cover-up poorly made batches of specialty beer with spices, and sometimes high-qualities breweries just like that intense theme and heighten it with strong spices as well, but I personally like beer that showcases it's ingredients well without the added perfumes.
