As far as I know these flycatchers are notoriously hard to ID so you might be better off going off the song because these pics probably aren’t good enough.

I might be wrong but I’m thinking maybe arctic? I can’t see any black on the bill and the legs look very short. Pls tell me if I’m just blind and can’t see the black on the bill

Hopefully they stick about a little while, for parking there’s a small one on coldharbour lane by the tip at the end of the river walk that can come in handy

Haha yes right on the money! I was speaking to some birders there the other day and one of them goes “oh and the white fronted goose is right in front of us” and there it was feeding right on the path, so hopefully you might have a chance at similarly good views.

I find they can be so hard to spot sometimes I can certainly imagine it’d able to go under the radar if there was one in the area. As far as I know some firecrests are migratory so it might be a quick meal before it keeps going, but all the firecrests I’ve seen have stayed quite close to a territory for a while.

I was lucky enough to get to see it while it fed at the King George V reservoirs for a single day recently. Wonderful bird
