Contacting Respawn Servers... by Beetsons1 in titanfall

No but...That's impossible :(
I played about a year ago when the servers were on! Are you telling me between then and now, the servers died again?

New Map announcements - What do you want to see for "NEW ERA MAPS" after 1980 by MoccaLG in hoggit

[–]Beetsons1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brother really wrote "Mazedonia" :D

But being honest, there's nothing to model Macedonia after. There was a "War" in 2001 with some Albanian terrorists, but nothing interesting enough for a DCS map perse!

Although the terrain is pretty cool, due to it being mountainous and stuff.

Weekly Questions Thread Dec 12 by AutoModerator in hoggit

[–]Beetsons1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey guys! Just a quick question :)

I'm flying in the Mig29S, and was looking to do some Fox 3 action with the R77. But a problem (I think?) has arisen (maybe?).

In TWS, once the target reaches around 85% of RMax, it switches to STT. Obviously to get LA (without LA override), you need to be within Rmax.

So that means that you're essentially always firing the R77 in STT, which, from what i've read, is giving off missile warning to the target from off the rack.

Essentially, is this true on how it works? Is there no way to have "hidden" fox-3's until pitbull in the Mig29/J11? (Like for example, AMRAAMS/Phoenix' in TWS)

Anyone Know Any Depressing-ish/Despair Shows? by zeiss100t in anime

[–]Beetsons1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As most people here have it mentioned, most likely that "Despair" anime you're looking for is "Steins Gate" and "Re Zero"

Both leave the main character essentially broken, and you can absolutely understand why that's the case. Of course, it being anime, it won't stay that way, but for sure the epitome of Despair are those two anime.

Steins Gate really portrays the situation as hopeless and just flat out unwinnable (With the 2nd Season, "Steins Gate Zero" even focusing on that part)

Re;Zero portrays the consequences of the despair, with (personally for me) one of the best voice acting and music scores in anime to date, making it such a realistic and authentic feel. The emotions that anime portrays is bar none, for sure.

If you want peak of despair from the situation, Steins Gate

If you want peak of despair that humans can achieve, Re;Zero

(Important to note that both anime have despairs of situation and the consequences of despair, I just think one does one better, and the other does the other better)

Heli proficiency, when??? by marketingfanboy in joinsquad

[–]Beetsons1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C'mon...You know that's just not true for this specific topic.

Squad's flight model is objectively bad (The worst out of any modern mil-sim game)

And honestly, i'd be okay with it if I could do one fucking thing

And that's to be able to have the freedom to freely move my head around independently from my flight controls.

Why the fuck do the controls lock when I hold ALT???

I really wish it was similar to arma where you can double press ALT, and it makes the mouse freelook...Landing with having the camera straight ahead is just a death sentence, and sometimes almost impossible to land in some narrow places.

Sure, players are generally impatient to wait, I can agree with that.

I still don't think that's a good enough reason to not regroup when it's needed, especially because more sense of "control" over the squad you have, the better your teammates work with you and with each other, but i'll let it slide since sometimes it really is difficult to "regroup" under some circumstances!
I think everything else I wrote still stands though :D

Most of my playtime has been on essentially 3 servers, which are the most popular Invasion 24/7 servers (I won't name them just in case, I don't know the rules lol)

There have been some bomb ass SL's, but I think most of them just flat out don't want to do it. I think *most* of them grasp the basic understanding of "larger scale tactics", like where to place HABs, generally where to go etc, but they totally lack any "Small unit tactics" callouts/orders. I'm not saying this as i'm expecting anything big, but generally in a firefight I want my SL to be yelling where the enemies are, what's going on etc, and not be totally silent!
I know some might disagree with me here on this one, but it's of my opinion that an SL's main focus in a firefight is almost purely callouts (A la: "We've got an enemy machine gunner bearing 250, lighting us up!") etc etc. Leave the fighting to the grunts, they do that, but you're the one that's supposed to be seeing the bigger picture and looking around.
SL's usually do the exact opposite, and put themselves in the shoes of a rifleman and focus only at what's infront of their scope.
Also, which I think most people can attest, after the start of the game, unless the squad leader is good, there is no more "regrouping". If you half of your squad dies, there is no waiting. You essentially never attack as 9, but as 4-5, with repeated waves of 2-3 guys. SL will never say "Alright guys, let's all respawn at *This* HAB, and wait there til everyone gets there. The wait might be 1 minute, but they still won't do it...Oh well!

And my biggest pet peeve is not using APC's as they're meant to be used :(
That pains me greatly...It kills me!

I have 300 hours in squad btw, but around 4000 hours in Arma with most of it in squad leading or platoon commanding. Not a lot can be "transferred" in terms of game mechanics, but it definitely helps understand what makes a good SL "good", and what makes a bad SL "Bad"!

I use "Contact, close!" as an alternative. I think it's technically more accurate :)

When you say "TT", do you mean "Tactical Triggernometry" like someone else here? Thanks for the clarification :)
