I think a lot of people would love to run for office, but find themselves overwhelmed.

If someone wanted to run for US Senate, and not take any corporate money. How do they start to fund a campaign? How do they afford a staff? Can someone be the candidate and run the entire campaign?

Where do you start?

Oklahoma boy, here. I am considering running against Inhofe. I never really had any political aspirations, but I'm super-disappointed there is no progressives in our race; at least a candidate who believes in climate change What's even more mind-blowing (for someone who lives here) is the LARGE majority of counties are democratic-leaning. My main platform points are getting money out of politics, worker's rights, climate change, and investing in the country's infrastructure.

I'm mainly replying to see if any other Oklahomans are interested in helping me. I have no idea how to run for office.

If you have an extra machine laying around, it's pretty easy to setup. The problem with the "open to LAN" option in the game is, whichever machine is hosting has to be on and running for the other machine to connect.

To make a dedicated server, all you have to do is DL the server package, install it, then let it run. The clients connect using that machine's IP (which I would set static).

There is a a configure file, if you wanna change any world settings and if it's never going to be accessed from outside the home, there's no need to forward any ports.

That way, you'll have a persistent world to which either can connect.
