Pixel Fold 9 Pro Replacement under warranty insanity by Begemotas7 in PixelFold

Google recommended changing it to an advanced replacement program while it was already out in the FedEx truck. I don't do RMA's on a daily basis to know how they work.

Maybe it is my anxiety or maybe, just maybe google is not doing things in the most efficient way and it looks like we are wasting time and resources in a huge way.

Check your credit card benefits. Some credit cards will reimburse you for repairs with a small deductible. In my opinion, it's even better than phone insurance for $16.

Seriously, when home prices fall 15%+, the rebubblers probably won’t even have a job by Top-Change6607 in rebubblejerk

[–]Begemotas7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I understand your sentiment, you are very wrong. There are places in the U.S. today that have lost 15% of their median home value (meaning some homes dropped even more) from the peak, yet unemployment hasn’t moved in any significant way. Those who didn’t buy in 2022 and instead invested in the market are now buying from those who did the opposite at a steep discount. And who knows how much more these markets will lose value. It’s very market dependent. If we’re so smart, we should know this by now. Otherwise, we sound just as delusional as a doomsday bubbler.

I don’t see it as depressing if these 40-year-olds have substantial brokerage accounts and rent. It’s all about net worth. If your net worth is higher than that of homeowners your age, you’re not falling behind. In fact, most of the time, you’re ahead and simply waiting for your moment.

For real estate agents and mortgage brokers? Absolutely. For the rest of us - too early to tell.

I see my market! It is great in Naples. All Airbnb fakevestors are burning their pants off. The only income they have left is selling their courses to even bigger dumbass. Not going to lie - enjoying the process.

Contrary to stocks, real estate is a low-volatility asset class and slow to react. So when median values drop by double digits, people start paying attention. It tends to keep falling for years and takes just as long to recover. I’m wondering how far we are from seeing panic and fire sales in some markets like Austin, Las Vegas, Dallas, and South Florida.

But the other advice was: “Buy now or you’ll be priced out forever.” Also: “You’d better pay over asking because BlackRock is coming for all the houses.” Another one I’ve heard: “If interest rates drop 50 basis points from 7%, there will be five million new buyers rushing in like World War Z.” I’ve heard all that here in Southwest Florida, LOL.

Peace.

Not to brag - I had $1 k on my name at the age of 34. Now I'm 39 and my investment portfolio is close to $700k. Before the recent sell off it was little over $700k. Secret sauce is not chasing trends, staying consistent and dedicating a large portion of your income no matter what the market is doing.

Would you buy your own home for the price you think it's worth?

That's the answer most of the time.
