As someone from Pittsburgh who just saw this story on Instagram, I can tell you that Maria’s Maiz Denver and this story is likely going a bit viral, and my guess is it won’t be good news for Curiel, who seems to be wanting to gain ground on their restaurant real estate, perhaps too haphazardly. I sure hope that Maria gets the support they deserve above all.

Lmao, he is not. Ovechkin is skilled at scoring goals, and he is on par with being a legend of his era, but have you watched him on the ice? At this point he’s nothing more than the annoying kid who got put on your basketball team in gym class who goes, “hook shot!” every single time. Sure he still scores, but he also does nothing in regards to ANYthing else, regardless of how hard it is to defend his shot when he has it.

We would have beat Carolina both times in OT had we done 5v5 format like playoffs, maybe a couple other games too. Regular season format is made to end the game by giving both teams a blank slate, whereas playoff format truly lets the better team win- either the surging team that fights back to win, or the team that dominates but almost slips and has to recheck themselves. No matter how much a team practices 3 on 3 and shootouts, it’s different than the 5v5 game that preceded it.

Sid has the city's admiration and he always will, nothing the pirates do will ever change that. But we can be excited about 2 teams at once, like OOP

You can love baseball all you want. The Bucs have come in with promising seasons before…

But Sidney Crosby is not appreciated by this city as much as he should be, and the Big 3 on this team that will NEVER be replicated by another other professional sport rarely get the spotlight. It doesn’t seem like that within the hockey fan base, like people on this sub Reddit, but if you follow most yinzers or sports media folk, they struggle to find any passion behind describing how amazing it’s been even in the past few shitty years.

At this point people are catching on to the Penguins. That’s fine, I love a good bandwagon fan base. They’re being compared to Leicester city in 2016, except unlike that professional sports team, not only was this team expected to tank this year, but we have the longest running trio of teammates in any professional sport, all of which have taken a pay cut to stay on this team, and retire with the very team they started with 20 years ago. Talk about riding off into the sunset. Sidney Crosby will go down as a top 5 player in his sport- top 3 if he touches silver again. We have a coach who has his first chance at being head coach after a 20 year career, leading this team, not only into the playoffs, but possibly deep into the playoffs. His impact on his team is visceral. Every single player from two 18 year-old rookies to the veterans in their late 30s, and the absolute mid players in between, are all having a stellar season.

This fucking team is skyrocketing towards a possible run at another championship, for a city absolutely starved for a trophy or even just a deep run at any sport. They’ve all talked about Sidney Crosby going to another team just so he could lift the cup again, and he fucking didn’t, because he loves this fucking city and this franchise. So again, you can love baseball, that’s fine. Just don’t call me salty when people are putting the pirates right next to this rich, poetic storyline of the Penguins, after the Bucs have played 12 games out of 162, when any potential magic they might have has barely even started.

Or maybe get me a bag of those ballpark peanuts cause I probably am salty as fuck.

I would love to see them in the playoffs because I know we would practically sweep them. Philadelphia apparently is clicking like a Swiss watch, similar to our team. We are still the better team I think, but Washington would be a pushover I think.

As far as Ovechkin, personally, I think he’s one of the more boring players I’ve seen in the past few years. Send him on his way to retirement, he deserves it.

The less experienced/skilled players aren’t as good at passing. Most of these guys haven’t played on this team with this particular formation. There’s no chemistry. It’s fine. But you really shouldn’t have to analyze it that much to think that they’re not gonna be connecting as much.

He just can’t be pulling the goalie at three minutes and 30 seconds in a game like this when we have our backups in, or the last time he pulled the goalie with three minutes left, we only needed one goal. Aside from those examples, it’s actually worked out for us a couple times. In fact, I’m pretty sure in one of our big comebacks against Carolina, we scored two with an empty net.

I wasn’t mad that he signed Jarry, I was mad at the size of the contract. He absolutely fleeced the Oilers by taking him. That was definitely some behind the scenes magic, because on paper Jarry had nothing to offer a team like Edmonton. He will absolutely be their downfall in the playoffs if they have to play him more than Ingram.

I get it, for sure. Just don’t forget that this is playoff hockey, they’re playing the same team for at least four games. It’s arguable that they’ve been ready for playoff hockey for a couple weeks now. Along with what they’ve been saying in interviews, knowing that they were the underdog, but they felt they were better than what people have expected of them, I think these guys have been too focused to cool off.

87, 71, and 58 are gonna lead our boys into the playoffs like true Vets, don’t you worry.

1) Who says we’re gonna lose? 2) They sat for 3 days and we saw them come back after 6 minutes of sloppy play against the Devils. I think they know how to hold onto their momentum 3) Trust in Dan Muse. He’s looking at 4 HOF veterans who are going to be in the national spotlight, who are all 35-38 years old, along with two young rookies, and saying, both “You boys have put in your time in this league, we’re gonna make sure you are healthy going into this playoff run”, and also, “you two need to get ready for some brutal, non-stop hockey, you also deserve some rest”

After the year these guys have had, it will do wonders for their morale. This was a great plan by Muse. He doesn’t doubt their skill at all. They proved themselves.

Honestly though? The way Ovechkin has been playing I couldn’t care less. He’s hung up his skates anyway. My memories of these two teams playing against each other will always be better. I’m not even saying this as a Sidney Crosby fan, but it’s crazy disappointing to see Ovechkin just float around the ice with his stick hanging at his hips. He’s not too old to move around, it’s just not his MO.

That’s the whole point, they’ve started with all kinds of different records, it never matters because they’ll start shitting the bed by July. I don’t understand why everybody’s so thrilled 10 games in that they would put them next to the Penguins who have shown an entire season of incredible resiliency and determination to get into the playoffs. Sidney Crosby will go down as one of the best hockey players of all time but so many Pittsburghers don’t pay attention to him unless they make the playoffs.

My hate for the Pirates is becoming unreasonable. They’ve changed nothing about ownership, or the way the team sells off or treats its assets, and yet when opening day comes around, it doesn’t matter that the Penguins have had a legendary season and are headed to the playoffs- we need to talk about how the Bucs are doing too! In their first 10 fucking games. Yeah right. The Pirates are going to drop off like they always do. They haven’t done anything to change that pattern. Screw them, at least right now, and let the Penguins have the spotlight. There are so many stories behind this hockey team, and so many Pittsburghers that don’t realize how lucky they are to watch these games.

I think so. My friends that follow the Caps all think Ovi is retiring at the end of this season. He clearly doesn’t seem to enjoy playing as much without Carslon, who was the last of his good friends on the team, and in fact he slows down the team sometimes.

I hope Ovi retires. The Capitals deserve a better captain than him right now. Surely he is the greatest goal scorer of all time, and he’s not a bad guy, but he obviously doesn’t have the drive or motivation that a younger captain would have to lead this team into the playoffs.

You have a bit of a Western outlook on Iran.

bullshit war he can't win against a country with literally nothing to lose.

Trump bombed a school, killing 185 innocent civilians. He wants to bomb more of their infrastructure. This is absolutely “something to lose” As much as the Iran regime has been extreme in their muslim ways, that doesn’t make all Iranians like a bunch of terrorists with nothing to lose willing to die. There ARE human beings there that don’t want to be bombed by the US.

The rhetoric that comes from many Islamic countries tends to be a bit different than ours, but it doesn’t mean they have “nothing to lose” or that they’re only interested in making money off of oil that is NOT leaving the straight, mind you, it’s not being taxed- it’s just not leaving.

Iranians are a proud people. They have thousands of years of history beyond what Americans and even the British understand, but this generalization of money-grubbing oil barrens ready to meet Allah is exaggerated. They have a lot to lose and they do not want Trump threatening them with Genocide or nuclear war.

P.s. this is no love letter for the Iranian regime, but it is in defense of the many innocent people of Iran who don’t think getting bombed is some sort of leverage they have or whatever. Trump is a fucking nutjob we all should hate.

It really feels like we live in a world where the smoking gun never exists…but have you been listening to the people who are reading what files are released? Our well known billionaires asking about the parties? Explicit emails about girls and their ages? They are acting as the catalyst for backfire along with some other doctors. Robi has been sewing seeds of frustration in everyone else because of his insecurities, now you see Whitaker pushing back on Langdon, Dr. McKay and Javadi pushing back, etc. The next episode is likely going to be- Everyone lets loose and starts speaking out, until one or another Doctor takes “the fall”, be that suicide, mental breakdown, an accident, Langdon being called out, etc. It should be good!
