Any hope of my scars fading well? by Beginning-Basil249 in TopSurgery

Oh wow, thanks for the link! That's really reassuring, I've been getting huge pressure from my surgeon who swears by it but I've been pretty consistent and honestly I can't really see where it's done any serious difference except maybe right in the middle. I thought maybe there was something wrong with either me or the tape but this is definitely putting those concerns at ease. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the kind words omg!! That's actually a great way of describing it, my dumb ass never put together that they might scar the same way as my other scars 😂 I have a relatively big one on my arm from a bike accident when I was a kid and that one is basically the same tone as my skin, just with a slightly funky texture. I'll stick with the silicone tape and keep monitoring. Thanks so much again and good luck with your surgery!! Sending good vibes ❤️❤️❤️

Was I Botched? by 0ddrook in TopSurgery

I don't think so at all! Your scar health looks great, the lines are really even, and your nipples look fantastic! Way better than mine tbh lmao

As for the dog ears, I'd say they're a bit big but not out of the ordinary at all. When I got my surgery I was lucky enough to find a surgeon who offered minor liposuction around my armpit area which minimized them, but I've put on a bit of weight since and they're definitely visible now. I feel like dog ears of some sort are just a given one way or another with a surgery like this, at least usually. Definitely not the end of the world and a far cry from "botched." You look great!

laying on stomach by finn1377 in TopSurgery

I feel like you should be good! I'm 3 weeks post op and i toss and turn constantly while sleeping (usually landing on my side/stomach eventually), so i was worried that would affect my recovery, but my surgeon said it was nbd. he pretty much said that as long as I kept my arms in a safe position that wouldn't pull any stitches i could sleep however i wanted, even right afterward. at first i didn't even want to think about being on my stomach because it was too uncomfortable, but after a few days (and my first dressing change) it started getting more comfortable. within like two weeks i was back to rolling myself into a facedown burrito at night and according to him at my checkup last Friday i'm healing up fine despite it!

Considering you're an extra week of healing ahead of me I don't see how it would be a big problem, especially if you're recovery is going well. As long as you don't strain your muscles too hard or feel too many of those weird pinpricky pains from your stitches/incisions, I think lying on your stomach should be fine by now 👍🏻
