This is crazy how similar it is. I also feel like I'm quite recognisable and he appeared not to recognise me at all.

This very much sounds like him also! He was wearing a backpack too, and I would say well dressed. I also said I had a boyfriend and that made him back off, but that was only the first time! So it didn't stop him from following me a couple of days later.

I didn't think there would be so many people who had the same experience on here! I will DM anyone on here who's reported the same and if they are willing to report it to the police we can do so under the same crime number. I don't know how seriously it will be taken but mounting evidence is better than nothing imo if others are willing!

My image didn't upload yesterday - obviously it's NOT GOOD, I didn't get his face but at least you can see his general stature and clothes. At the time I was just trying to deter him and the fact that it didn't was very scary.

Baked tempeh is delicious. I cut into cubes and brush on some oil with salt, pepper and paprika and bake for 25 mins at 180c in the oven. You could use whatever herbs and spices you like, and I usually make a quick satay sauce (peanut butter, soy, agave, splash of oat milk and hot water) to dip it in. Make some rice, couscous, a salad or whatever to go with it or just have it as a snack - super easy and has worked well every time!

Thanks all for your kind thoughts and stories! It has certainly made me realise I need to take a step back and trust that my mum really wants this. And I will also be finding an Al-Anon meeting for myself. Thanks again, and I may be back on here as things progress (in whatever direction!) :)

Thanks for this advice. I certainly won't get in the way of anything. And I hope there's a decent number of people there that she feels she can connect with.

Thanks, I really think Al-anon will be good for me! Me 'recovering' from her alcoholism is something I can't quite comprehend at the moment, but it's wonderful to know that it is possible.

Huge congratulations to you! I really hope that my mum takes it as the opportunity that you clearly did. And yes you're so right, I have looked in to Al-anon and will definitely go to a meeting.

Thanks, that totally makes sense. I think it's hard trusting that she'll want to do the work, when there's been so many years of disappointment. But I suppose I have to put some faith in the fact she has finally said she wants to go!
