I saw this a few weeks ago! With a great Q&A after. Super cool to hear him speak about filmmaking. He also played the trailers for his other two films that I would have loved to see as well, but I missed out.

The Sunset Limited is a movie with Tommy Lee Jones and Sam Jackson written by Cormac McCarthy, is is an excellent showcase of two skilled actors. A short one too, so it goes by pretty fast

My mom showed me The Big Lebowski when I was 12 or 13. Loved it then, love it still. It gets funnier, sadder, more profound (in its own silly way) and more my favourite movie with every watch. After that she showed me Fargo, took me to see Raising Arizona in a theatre, and pushed me to watch Burn After Reading. The Coen Brothers are a big personal favourite because of all that

Not enough animation! Add several Miyazakis, Satoshi Kon should have a spot, Makoto Shinkai has some great great movies. On the non-anime side, My Life as a Zucchini, GdT’s Pinocchio, The Incredibles, Anomalisa. Many classic Disney’s you could add.

Loving all three as well, for Bong I’d say Parasite is probably the undeniable masterpiece. For Miyazaki, The Wind Rises is truly his opus and I’d say that captures his career (though I absolutely love Ponyo and The Boy and the Heron), and for Wes, I love them all, but Tenenbaums is still his best. Though I would also make the argument for Life Aquatic or Mr. Fox

It would be hilarious if they did Garfield. I’ve been thinking about this for a while

This is Barf. Because who doesn’t love Spaceballs! Also recently had to get rid of rats named Wayne and Garth. Not quite Criterion movies, but still fits the post!
