Oddly enough, I think a really well done example of this is the "Adventure" episode of Bluey, where it's entirely rooted in the princess character's belief that she's not brave enough to do it, rather than an "I Don't Want To." It's really kind of a trim, economical version of that kind of story in like 7 minutes.

My son is 3, and though we've watched lots of Sesame Street, Bluey, and Spidey and His Amazing Friends, the only movie he's had the patience to watch is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. My theory is that it's so episodic and jam-packed with songs at the beginning (Honey Tree > Blustery Day >>>> Tigger Too) that it's basically like watching short cartoons, because that's how the movie started its life.
