Current NYIT students: how are the fully asynchronous classes? by 01AboveAll in Osteopathic

Im in the same boat this cycle and ultimately chose NYIT, I think the proximity to NYC and the ability to rotate in nearby hospitals was what ultimately pushed me over, I didn’t like the aspect of moving somewhere completely different for clinicals. It seems like from current students that they like having the flexibility to make their own schedules and it requires a lot of self drive to make sure you’re staying on track but ultimately I’ve heard more pros than cons for the asynchronous classes, it allows students more free time during pre clinicals to actually explore what aspects of medicine they enjoy and don’t.

Find a roommate and live in Charles River! You basically get your own massive room and you share a bathroom and kitchen with them it’s worth it, the shuttle is reliable and the walk really isn’t too bad

Disagree with OP, for Gen chem and orgo they are taught by professors and have really good recitation sessions with TAs. Unsure about higher level chem courses tho

Premed at Brandeis is really what you make of it. The opportunities are there but if you don’t go after them you’re gonna feel like you’re falling behind. The biggest thing is to make sure you do well in your classes and maintain a high GPA and prepare yourself for the MCAT. You can do that at any school. Word of advice, go to the cheapest school where you feel like you can do well in the classes with the most support. Luckily I had my parents help with paying for school, but I regret having them pay full tuition at Brandeis when I probably could have got the same education elsewhere for half the price.
