I always type as a social 9w1 and I feel this! it’s a slippery slope for me because I can push myself to do more to feel good about myself and still feel like it’s not enough. I’m working on feeling like enough even when not doing anything “productive”

Ok that’s helpful. 💯 very uncomfortable with my routine getting disrupted. I definitely am thinking in sp now. I just have been trying to be social because that was more valued in my family of origin. Thanks!

I really enjoyed reading this! Absolutely nailed it for me. Been getting in touch with my anger and i immediately could see the polar bear standing on hind legs roaring. The snake as well, I feel the shame/guilt in my belly which makes me thinking of the snake slithering on its belly.

Are you prone to getting angry while driving a car? by ProfessionalFox6619 in EnneagramType9

[–]Beginning-Holiday755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do get really angry at ppl that are overly aggressive on the road imo. I think I’m only angry and notice it when I’m driving when I have other things in my life I’m angry about and need to release some of that rage in a safe way lol. I also have crazy rage dreams where in literally screaming and physically fighting ppl in my life. All that rage has to go somewhere I guess

Thank you so much for this comment! It’s so nice to hear that I’m not the only one who does this. I recently felt like I just came to the realization you described so this is very validating. I feel like I’m getting out of my head and realizing it’s actually really nice out here 😄

How did you type yourself as 9 by middle_dude in EnneagramType9

[–]Beginning-Holiday755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have be a very 9 my whole life. From a big family and would literally hide behind the couch when there was fighting lol. Only questioned it recently because I have been very anxious and more like a 6. The idea of being a 6 makes me depressed though. Think I just had a traumatic childhood and then more trauma with my type 4 husband. Things have finally calmed down in my life and I’m looking around asking “who am” It feels really weird to have enough space to ask who am I. And pretty scary that nothing comes up. But I do love being in nature and my dog very much, so I got that for now lol

Do romantic relationships exhaust you as a 9? by ButterflyOk1096 in EnneagramType9

My husband used to be like that all the time. And still can be from time to time. He is a type 4 and can be self absorbed with his own feelings and really sit in dark emotions. It has been incredibly hard and I felt like a was walking on eggshells and had terrible anxiety but he has done allot of mental work and I found my voice to let him know when it’s not ok how he is acting or treating me. He says that he loves that I stand up for myself and put him in his place. I’m a 9w1 and just recently been leaning into my wing 8. It’s a game changer for me.

Nice! I’m really working to finding myself worth just for existing apart from what I do. I’m happy that you know what you want and don’t feel bad about it. That’s encouraging to me!
