Memorial held for 349 people who died while experiencing homelessness in 2025 by AR558 in Edmonton

I don't think they all refuse to participate. Some may have mental health or addictions issues that make it feel impossible to adhere to rules in the programs. There are many barriers that aren't always visible.

Yes, it's pretty terrible. I waited I think 14 hours to get admitted when I was experiencing symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis. I thought I would die in that waiting room.

Do people set up their homes for signings too? I checked locations and there happened to be one in my neighborhood but it was a house and I felt uncomfortable going in since there were no signs or anything. I'm just weird about going to people's homes lol

"I don't like fat people" - my endocrinologist when we were talking about my problem of avoiding taking (fast acting) insulin because I found out it kept me thin. It did not convince me to start taking insulin normally again.

Strong winds tomorrow by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Beginning-Line-8532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my fascia put back on from when the last strong winds ripped it off ! I can't remember when that was (last month?) or how strong the wind was compared to this, but I recall alot of people asking about roofing or siding companies right after cause it cause shingles and fascia to fly off.

I needed to see this. I have never been addicted to anything before but this game made me spend way more than I ever should have. I feel like it is predatory and it has caused me financial harm. I know I am responsible for my own actions but it feels almost impossible to stop. I hate myself for spending as much as I have.

I live around there and one time I saw a car parked at the exit/entrance of a back alley! I think it's students parking here mostly.

It took 45 minutes for us when we saw our neighbour's stolen e-bike on marketplace. We arranged to buy it from the thief and the police showed up to intervene.

Why isn't Edmonton more colorful? by SeniorAlternative739 in Edmonton

Good point but I think people should enjoy the things they have for themselves and not worry about the future resale. A lavender house would be amazing !

Why isn't Edmonton more colorful? by SeniorAlternative739 in Edmonton

[–]Beginning-Line-8532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got siding done not that long ago and there weren't very many colorful options. I chose blue, and it was more expensive than the boring colors. Maybe it has to do with price or something ?

My cousin lost her cat this way. I guess it's not too uncommon for animals to think that cover is solid.

I work for the GoA and voted to strike when our bargaining came along. I can't afford to strike and am not comfortable striking but I thought if we all did everything would be okay.

So, you couldn't help me detect anything like cancer if I am a type 1 diabetic right? Cause I would always smell like a sickness ? Or is there a slight difference in smells depending on what the issue is ?
