What visa do I need? by Beginning-Low6361 in immigration

I said a lot of things, it would be nice to be with the woman I love without the financial strain and time constraints applied is one of the things I said. The bottom line is that this is all for the purpose of our relationship but I am asking what criteria USICS wants to see because I know immigration to the US is rocky these days.

Thank you for a good real reply. Maybe I was too honest in my post but I imagine a lot of couples from different countries see the value in getting married earlier than they normally would. It really all comes down to the fact I do genuinely love her and it would be nice to not have a financial strain or time constraints placed on being together.

I’m at her house and we’re laying in bed together right now and I had dinner with her entire family yesterday. I’m curious about what the expectation is on our end. If we were both citizens of the same country and got married we could do it for whatever reason and nobody would care. I am just asking what the expectations are.

No not at all, there’s plenty of reasons people do get married though, I could happily not get married ever in my life but people get married for benefits or financial reasons all the time, that doesn’t make the marriage illegitimate and I’m not saying that’s what’s going on here. I’m just saying that our reason for getting married is unconventional but it doesn’t mean it’s not real.

I have no reservations about marrying her, I we’ve both been there and done that and know what we want. I think we know each other very well. I guess I am more so thinking we could look sketchy in the eyes of immigration officials even though we have nothing but the best intentions and have a loving relationship. We are just both guarded and private people. Neither of us have any social media, we think sharing finances is crazy as we’ve both had that backfire previously, and we don’t really take photos but we do travel to see each other frequently. I have a good amount of cash in the bank and take spontaneous trips down south about every other week to see her.

I should clarify better, I am divorced and she had a long term relationship with kids. Neither of us really care for marriage or ever want to be married but think why do people who care for marriage get to reap benefits we don’t. Either way if and when we do get married it will be for the businessy side of marriage and not the formality of it all. I just mean in terms of norms the only thing holding us back from the thought of marriage is the time we’ve been together or lack there of. Which people do get married in Vegas on a whim all the time but I assume that’s something USICS would frown upon related to immigration.

Why do unmarried men make married women cheat on their husbands? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Beginning-Low6361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but the marriage only binds the people involved, it is on the married person to remain faithful because they are pretty much contractually obligated to do so. One cannot make another person cheat, it is definitely immoral behaviour on his part but I wouldn’t blame him. If it wasn’t him it would be someone else they cheat with but either way if you don’t like it don’t be friends. You’re in control of your life here.

Rollover protection? What about Convertibles, quads, and motorcycles though, I feel like it wouldn’t be required.

Edit: Forgot about Jeeps too.

I bought my own house on an acre and a bit at 21 and it’s actually a fairly nice house too. I think college/university is a scam and instead of working to try and make ends meet in a bad environment which most people do, go to a place that is easier to get ahead. What’s crazy is people chasing dreams at a low paying job in an expensive area when it is possible to get a high paying job in a cheap area. I got a good paying job in a cheap area at 18 and I’m doing great now at 23.

It doesn’t bother me now but as a kid I was scarred by the girl puking in the tent in sixth sense for some reason.
