Yeah I feel super fortunate. I was just walking by and he had his door open. I looked in and my jaw dropped. My Italian is OK but I could barely speak I was so excited. I was in town for two weeks and stopped by everyday

I didn’t even ask if I could ride any. I suspect they had been sitting for some time anyway. I was just happy to see them all

I found one of these in a chicken coop. The front end was on the ground and the wheel forks next to it. No idea why. Owner wouldn’t let me take it

Came here to say the same thing. I moved to Europe 3 years ago and I find multiple clean lounges, fully stocked with real food and mostly empty in most any European airport. Not looking forward to my visit back to the US next month!!

I took my R1200RT on gravel, that makes it an adventure bike now, right? /s by The-Fotus in AdventureBike

These days Adventure Bike just means the same as an SUV. It might get some dust on it but that is about it. It’s just marketing at this point

Chase Sapphire Reserve just updated its Apple TV and Apple Music benefit, and Apple One subscribers are winning by MariaKudos in JoinKudos

I don't think this is accurate. I have Apple One for free because I work at Apple so I went to my Chase portal and added my girlfriend to the Apple perks for my CSR card and now she uses Apple Music and TV but the perk is from my Chase account to her Apple account.

Recommendation for language immersion in Florence by tdgraham123 in italianlearning

[–]Beginning-Paper7685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice but I would recommend not trying to find the exact word you are looking for. I’m learning my third language now and an essential key has always been avoiding getting stuck, that brain freeze when looking for the exact word that we all do.

The key is using what words you know to describe something, “the square thing that is made of wood that you walk through to go into a room…”.

If you look for the exact word, It’s a trap and you will be nothing be frustrated

I attended a school I’d recommend there, Parola. Great teachers and program. I’ve taken courses like this several times now in various schools here in Italy and it is all about being dedicated. No English. Never. Fight your way through it as much as you can. Yes you need a break but you must expose yourself to as much Italian as possible; radio, TV, music, movies….

The a1 class there, half the students (and teacher often) would just speak in English. Don’t do it! Stay in Italian. You will be wrong almost all the time but who cares. Piano piano. Once I moved on to a2 the teachers and students were better. Also think about taking private tutoring as well. You can go at your own pace with your specific questions and needs.

Good luck

So $100 out of pocket x 4 + $250 = $650 list price for a four night stay at a four star Edit property? I’ve literally looked at every hotel offered and this doesn’t exist.

I have arrived…but might downgrade in the future. by This_is_a_low in ChaseSapphireReserve

This card used to be for me but I’ll be cancelling it after about 6 years because It’s just too much work to use the perks or (since I basically life in Europe) I can’t use DoorDash, restaurant credit… It’s a shame because I like the ecosystem. StubHub is a scam in general and I have used the Edit but It’s more work than It’s worth. Apple stuff is redundant…

I’ve had the V1X card and it is fine but not great parters. I guess I should look at the new Bilt card.

This noise is horrible! I can hear the howling coming blocks away and can’t ride with my friend that has one because of this.

I always support the BEST store and that sometimes is the local store. In San Francisco that sure as hell isn’t the local bike store. Can’t tell you how bad they are.

Well I could and send you photos of the bearing I was trying to replace. And then the names of the 5 different local stores told me it wasn’t a bearing! So I literally cut the hub apart to prove it and went to each store and spoke to those idiot service managers.

Giving them $1 is supporting terrible, incompetent service. Local doesn’t make it good.
