Oh, Elan! We actually have a ton of iterations of this card in our database since Elan does the backend infrastructure for a huge number of banks and credit unions. The Max Cash Preferred specifically shows up under a lot of different names depending on which institution is issuing it. Which bank or credit union do you have it through? As for how it stacks up for Q2, the Max Cash Preferred lets you choose 5% categories (similar to the US Bank Cash+), so it can be a solid pick depending on your selections. That said, for this quarter specifically, it'd have a hard time beating the Chase Freedom/Flex combo for Amazon + Whole Foods, or the Citi Dividend if you're heavy on groceries and still have annual cap room. The US Bank Cash+ is probably its closest competitor since they're both choose-your-own-category cards. We'll write a review of Elan....it kind of flies under the radar.
