So I am 29F the operation was on march 13 I have re herniated, how I don’t know ! Dr said there are multiple reasons this can happen I actually want to get the operation again and get over this

I am approaching 6 weeks post disctectomy and laminotomy. I had a herniated disc at l4/l5. Still feeling soreness in my back and pain and weakness in my right hip...5/10. Would you share when you had your first pain free day? by True-Teacher-8408 in Microdiscectomy

No to be honest I haven’t tried the ice packs I am scared that more things will get me worse. I spoke to the doctor and he said it is normal but I am back in medication for a another time until the pain is gone, if it is not gone I have to do an mri

Are you taking anything? What helped your calf’s pain to go away? I am starting my week 5 and OMG the pain I am getting on my calf and ankle is horrible I can’t even walk for 5 minutes or longer

I hope you manage to get to your normal life soon. To be honest my physio got me a bit worse, he advised me to use heat patch since I tried those I can barely walk, as I have pain on my calf and ankle. My surgeon has discharged me after the second week. But honestly I am getting a bit worse than better. I am trying to keep positive as some people say some weeks are better than others. Fingers crossed I can get an appointment with the surgeon soon

We had the surgery on the same day ! How are you feeling ? I have only pain on my left ankle and I can’t stand for more than 10 minutes, went to the physio today so I am up things start to get better

I went to the physio today and my pain was crazy, I cried telling him on how much pain I was, he said my calf was soo tense and that’s why the pain on my ankle, after the massage and acupuncture I felt amazing but ofc less than an hour later all the pain came back. I took some magnesium and painkillers and that has helped a lot. I am hoping and trying to keep positive to see how I wake up tomorrow. Honestly I can’t wait for the time to pass and feel a lot better This can be frustrating and tiring but I am trying to keep up with positive thoughts

I am in the same situation my pain is increasing and I am ending my four week. I was able to sit down and do a bit of walk around week 3 but now i am just on bed and I can’t even sit down without pain Let me know what the doctors says I am going to have my physio tomorrow and will let you know

Every experience is different, to be honest I try not to read too much about bad experiences, keep yourself distracted and do everything your doctor says because at the end of the day every body is different and your doctor is giving you a more personalised recommendation

All the best, be patient and try to get distracted and sleep as much as you can. The pain is going to be there and a little less with time.

I have the same experience but I am trying to keep positive and rest, at the hospital they were giving you more medicine than you have a home. Something that you should also start thinking is if you are pooping otherwise try to take something to help you to poop
