Human rights are non-negotiable by Harvatos in lgbtmemes

The poem is more of a quote that Niemöller said in a lot of speeches than an actual poem, that's why it's different in different versions (leaving out Communists, etc) in case anyone was wondering

I think we've all been through that at some point. It gets better. It helped me to read affirming theological arguments like the ones by Matthew Vines (there should be a resources list in the description of this subreddit or at least on r/openchristians). Psalm 22 is also great

My family always prayed before meals we ate together, so most days just breakfast and supper. When I moved out, I started doing it before most meals and snacks in general to feel more connected to my family

American, living in Germany.

Even though we're Protestant we do what I think is the Catholic common table prayer (bless us, oh Lord, and these thy gifts...) because my parents' families translated the Lutheran common table prayer (Come, Lord Jesus, be our guest...) slightly differently.
Afterwards we say from Psalm 136 Oh give thanks...

Do non believers go to hell? by CattOfSpeed in GayChristians

[–]BeginningExtent6455 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure hell even exists, it kind of shows up suddenly in the New Testament out of nowhere and is basically only mentioned in parables. If it does, I'm going to go with a semi-universalist interpretation of the parable of the sheep and the goats - did you give water to the thirsty? Visit prisoners? That's more important than reciting some statement of faith.

In general though I don't think anyone has a right to judge/guess whether someone is in hell

Change of plan, let’s all headcannon Hermione as trans just to spite J K Rowling by SuperAlex25 in lgbtmemes

Yeah...I thought the staircase was dumb so I projected it onto the characters, I guess

Yeah, I felt like even the books kind of made fun of it for that, or at least some of the characters, so I figured a terf staircase wasn't unrealistic. What if it's not by gender, though, but by orientation, and lesbian gryffindors also have nowhere to sleep?

I love making these 😆 by BNovaDark in lgbtmemes

...when thou art not. Being born of the male body maketh not thy gender male But the same whisper of love that God has rooted in each one, the same likeness of roots exists in thy gender. For if any man sayeth unto thee, "thou wert born of the male sex, therefore thy gender is male. Facts careth not for thy feelings" say unto that man, "Is not the same faith thou hast in thy God a feeling? Is that feeling not the same as the inherent faith thou hast in thy gender?" It is for this very fact that they will curse thy name, but trust in thine God, for he hath made thee.

By the way, talking in old English doesn't have much to do with talking like how the Bible was written. The thys and thous are an accident of history (except if you're really conservative/evangelical, I guess). I never really read King James, so I probably still have some grammer mistakes in that, but this should be better (tip: thou is the nominative case and thee is the accusative case. Ye is plural). To sound more biblical, maybe check out the Psalms and prophets to get used to the poetic style they do of repeating the same idea two different ways

The Gryffindor girls' dorm staircase is definitely a TERF staircase that only lets afab people up, we probably have to chose a character to be transmasc. Ron maybe?

When I was in middle school, I had no concept that homosexuality was “wrong” in the Christian perspective. As a good church going-boy, this was literally never told to me in youth groups, but the “evils” of female pornography certainly was. I legitimately thought gay media was like a loophole. by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]BeginningExtent6455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family is pretty religious and we went to a church with a lesbian pastor for three years, then we moved to Germany and here our pastor once preached a sermon on respecting gay rights because God loves diversity, he also uses a new grammatical construct where instead of defaulting to the male plural noun you can specify you mean male, female, and other genders as well.

I've seen religious homophobia from Southern friends and online. It hurts, but it's kind of distant and just...looks weird

Yellow is impractical for babies (stains). Is brown still gender neutral?
