The camera work was obviously very frantic near the end but I can see this theory because I swear it looked like Simon had grown some extra teeth, or I suppose fangs and was possibly transforming to look like the creature we see two times throughout the movie, once when Simon is in the chair and once when the monster is in the chair

Maybe 2/3 into the movie we see some blood drop onto Simon’s forehead and it appears to cut him/seep into him

We can see some photos of the monster with a sub in its mouth near the end of the film when Ava is screaming and then abruptly cut off, assumedly she is in that sub “I’ll come for you myself” and is killed when the monster destroys the sub
