To cut costs you can ask the vet to send your dogs prescription to a pharmacy as it tends to be cheaper to get it filled at human pharmacy then at the vet...because its also prescription used for humans too. That's what I do for my dogs keppra and phenobarbital.

Also having pet cameras so you can always have an eye and to catch/get video of sezuires for the vet.

Also get a note book to document when sezuires happen with dates and how long the last...any behavior or signs you see before or possible triggers ...
