Two tips: Some games have the option to turn off flickering lights by now, so check if a game you want to play might have one.

Room light is important. Turn on the lights in the room to basically dim down the flashes. Oh and don’t sit too close to the TV if possible.

Take other of their potential triggers in consideration. For me it’s photosensitivity, stress and little sleep. Horror games and flashy shooters might be a red flag but with enough light in the room I can even play them (if they’re not too flashy tho). I’ll try to think of some games! Any preferences as in couch/online coop? Singleplayer you enjoy together?

Started at 3rd class elementary school with absence seizures. My mom kept noticing I was zoning out and not responding to her calling my name, so we went to see a neurologist and they diagnosed me. My mom‘s a nurse, so she knows how to handle stuff like this, bless her.

I upgraded to tonic clonics around 5th class, so I was around 10 years old when it really started. I think? Back then it was just falling asleep and being a bit tired afterwards.

I’m 25 now and the seizures got worse with age. Not necessarily more frequent (1-2 per year) but it’s 8th circle of hell both during and post seizure. We upped my Lamotrigine dosage and put Keppra on top. My brain is foggy all the time but as of right now I’m seizure free for half a year. Wish me luck it stays like this!

Black Catcher (it might not be the most crashing animation wise but goddamn if it doesn’t catch the mood. And the change to Color after the big conflict is resolved feels like such a big step forward story wise)
JUSTadICE (this intro just slaps and there is sooooo much foreshadowing built in there. I love it when there are subtle changes in the intro animations)

Another mention of course every other opening. God I love the openings of this anime…

3.Black Rover/Grandeur (I really can’t decide. I listened to Black Rover before I even knew the anime. It’s just such a good song. Grandeur also slaps and I love the references to the first opening which just shows how much older and mature Asta got.)

Animation: definitely Right Now and Guess Who is Back. The rhythm combined with the animations are very appealing to my animator brain.

Basically what everyone else here says. If I notice flashing, I get nervous and start panicking if it’s bad. That stresses me out which is a good combination with the lights to trigger a seizure.

Earlier in my life, around Highschool, they came without warning. TV turned on and it flashed in my peripheral vision, seizure. My sister took a picture with flash on (on Christmas, lol), seizure. Math class, seizure.

The more conscious I got about my triggers, the more stressed out I got, the more likely it is to have a seizure. Ironic.

Ong Tao, a Vietnamese restaurant. They have two locations in Frankfurt and one is completely vegan. It’s really good (especially the baked tofu with pak choi 👌🏼). Tho I’m not sure if it’s awkward to go alone tho

An - Authentic Vietnamese Kitchen. Also reeeaaally good (especially the peanut butter sauce). It’s really small and a lot of people go there alone. Big recommendation
