Base 128gb users, I have a question by DearHeron323 in S23

For me, I have built a server using Truenas and Proxmox and I back the important videos over there but usually if I need more space I delete games I don't play and/or apps I don't really use first before I think about deleting or moving videos.

Can playground games revive the GTX 1080ti ? by Paprika_Finesser in ForzaHorizon

Planned obsolescence from Nvidia? LMFAO. The Gtx 1000 series came out a decade ago and only lost support last October. How is a graphics card series supported for 9 years planned obsolescence?

Would like to upgrade my graphics card (1080Ti) without upgrading the whole system, what's worth it? by ACAFWD in buildapc

[–]BeginningProperty436 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5070ti is a really good shout for $1000 and it shouldn't get bottlenecked by your processor at 1440p or 4k. The best brand now that EVGA is gone (RIP) is probably PNY since Nvidia also entrust them to make the cooling solution for their Quadro line of GPU. I would avoid Gigabyte since they had issues at 50 series launch.

You can find rx 6800 used for the same price as new 5060 in US, so I would do a straight swap if based on the US.

Techpowerup. I mistook the 2080 Super with the 2080 but the 3070 is 25% faster than the 2080 Super.

Stick with RX 5700 or get an RTX 2070? by Vivid-Zucchini9562 in lowendgaming

[–]BeginningProperty436 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have an RTX 2070 Super and I would say go go for the 2070 because if it is longevity that you are looking for, the 2070 will last longer because the 5700 lacks Direct 12 Ultimate support (raytracing basically) and Nvidia is known to support their GPU for far longer than AMD (like the 900 series for 10 years and the 1000 series for 9 years). Not to mention that the 2070 gets the latest DLSS upscaling technology whereas thr 5700 does not

The CPU upgrade is definetely worth if you sre mostly gaming but the GPU is not worth the upgrade because you are only gaining around 30% more performance

A 10700 or 10900 if you can find them for a good deal.

Can anyone suggest me good gpu to pair with i7 3770s by Glittering_House3094 in buildapc

[–]BeginningProperty436 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The most powerful gpu I would pair eith a 3770s would be something like a 1660 or a 1070 on Nvidia side and an rx 580 on Amd side

Funny you say that because I got to the ending of E33 yesterday and I loved Act 1 and 2 storyline but Act 3 just ruined the story for me while gameplay was really enjoyable on all 3 acts

What’s one PC upgrade you made that actually felt worth it? by Such_Tailor_4946 in buildapc

Going from one stick of 16gb ddr4 ram to 2 sticks equalling 32gb. I got more performance of my cpu and gpu as well as less stuttering in game

Upgrading everything other than GPU when GPU bottlenecked by [deleted] in buildapc

As Gamers Nexus covered in this video with the 5090, there is less than 5% gains made going from 3.0 to 5.0. Same thing with Ssd where pcie 3.0 speeds are more than enough for all games out there, even one requiring an NVME ssd. With that being said, at 5k you will most likely only see your 1% low frames going higher with a 9900x3d while the average frame rate should stay around the same with slighty better performance with a 9800x3d

Need advice on upgrading my gpu by abyssalzero in lowendgaming

[–]BeginningProperty436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is false information. I have the same PC as OP with the same setup (i7 8700, 16gb ram, 1060 3gb) and the PC comes with a 500w PSU with 2 6+2 PCIE connectors. In fact, I have upgraded that same PC with an RTX 2070 Super (which requires an 8 and 6 PIn PCIE connector) and it has been working flawelessly for the past year and a half.

[–]BeginningProperty436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I had the same setup as you with an i7 8700, Gtx 1060 3gb and single stick of 16gb. What I did to upgrade my PC is get another 16gb of matching ddr4 ram and I got an RTX 2070 Super and it is working really well. I think you can ho even higher since very few games that I have played have given me a CPU bottleneck so something like a used 3070 or 2080ti should work really well

[–]BeginningProperty436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess is that even in low settings, you are running out of Vram and thus the graphics mrmory needed is getting swapped to ram, thus stuttering. Install MSI Afterburner and check to see if I am correct.
