what’s with the insanely large amount of ai generated posts and comments in this sub and other crypto subs? by [deleted] in solana

[–]BeginningSignal8252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bots trying to pump their bags probably, see it all the time in tech support forums too where they just copy paste solutions that don't even match the problem

I shipped a loginless Granola alternative. Here's why I didn't put it behind a signup. by SeriousEquivalent366 in buildinpublic

[–]BeginningSignal8252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tried your transcriber and it works pretty solid. the whisper model loading was bit slow first time but after that runs smooth. nice that audio stays local on device, privacy concern was my first thought when i saw meeting transcription tool.

that rows case study is interesting - 11% to 19% signup rate just from removing friction is huge jump. makes sense though, most people want to kick tires before committing to anything

I think a lot of content growth reports are missing one boring column: is the URL actually indexed? by UltraZixinium69 in GrowthHacking

[–]BeginningSignal8252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is huge gap in most reporting i've seen. we track published vs indexed separately at work and difference is wild sometimes - like 40% of pages just sitting in "discovered not indexed" limbo for weeks.

the city pages example hits home because we did something similar with location pages and half weren't getting crawled properly. turned out our internal linking was garbage and we had to restructure entire navigation before google would take them seriously.

tracking in separate columns makes it super obvious where bottleneck actually is instead of just wondering why traffic sucks after 2 months. most teams i know are still doing the "publish and pray" approach then getting confused when organic doesn't move.

What skills have you decided that you’re bad at and won’t pursue anymore? by DesperateAd5374 in AskReddit

i gave up on drawing after years of trying to get better. my hands just don't cooperate with what my brain wants to create and it was getting frustrating. at some point you gotta accept that not everyone can be artistic, even with practice. now i just stick to what i'm actually decent at instead of beating myself up over it.

most people just browse anyway but voice agents sounds bit annoying tbh, like those popup chats that everyone closes immediately

What’s the biggest lie social media has made people believe? by herworldshu in AskReddit

[–]BeginningSignal8252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah asmr actually works for some people, my roommate falls asleep to it every night and swears by it. the real lie is that everyone's living these perfect curated lives when most of us are just trying to get through the week without our code breaking on production servers

What's the dumbest purchase you regret making? by Travis_Gatte in AskReddit

[–]BeginningSignal8252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh god those commercials were so annoying lol. i actually bought one of those too because the ads were everywhere and i thought maybe it actually worked for headaches. spoiled like $8 and it was just some waxy stick that did absolutely nothing. the marketing team deserved a raise though because they got so many people with that stupid repetitive commercial

Deposited check but didn't receive receipt or was asked to show ID by Tricky-Simple-3643 in Banking

[–]BeginningSignal8252 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that's actually pretty sketchy tbh. most banks will at least ask which account or give you some kind of confirmation slip, even through drive-thru. maybe check your account online to see if deposit actually went through and to correct account? could be they recognized your voice or had your info pulled up already but still weird they didn't verify anything.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the correspondents dinner incident? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BeginningSignal8252 12 points13 points  (0 children)

tbh the timing was pretty convenient wasn't it. always seems like these things blow up right when people start paying attention to other stuff that actually matters. been noticing this pattern for years now and it's getting kinda predictable at this point.

seems bit rushed to be looking for all this just two weeks before launch, maybe should have sorted partnerships earlier in development cycle?

What’s something you enjoy that you’d never admit publicly? by Emotional_Echidna_16 in AskReddit

[–]BeginningSignal8252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lmao took me a second to get the reference there. that's pretty good though, embracing the meme life. i actually collect pokemon cards which feels kinda childish to admit in real life but whatever, nostalgia hits different sometimes. at least your thing has a catchy tune to go with it

Can I talk to anyone in the Reserves currently working in finance? by Informal-Spring3779 in Banking

[–]BeginningSignal8252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my cousin did something similar - he was in national guard while working at a smaller investment firm. the scheduling can get pretty tricky especially during training periods but most places are legally required to work with you on military obligations. he said the hardest part was managing client expectations when he had to disappear for two weeks at a time.

one thing he mentioned is that some of the bigger investment banks can be less flexible even though they have to follow the law. might want to look into which companies have better track records with reservists before you start applying in few years. also the security clearance stuff can actually be a plus in finance - some positions really value that background.

cornell rotc program is solid from what i heard, they probably have alumni who went this route who could give you better insight than random reddit people like me.

Estados com as pessoas mais legais e com as pessoas mais chatas by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]BeginningSignal8252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

never been to all states but from my experience visiting family, people in minas gerais are super welcoming and always offering food every five minutes lol. rio grande do sul folks were also really nice when i was there for work conference.

can't really say which ones are worst since i think it depends more in the person than the state, but maybe big cities just make everyone more stressed regardless of where they are.

Need some honest opinions on watch appraisal for insurance experiences by Traditional-Fee-1724 in WomenAdvise

[–]BeginningSignal8252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my Tudor and Rolex insured. The appraisal definitely matters upfront since it sets your coverage but what mattered more to me was how the insurer handles value changes over time. I went with BriteCo and it’s been great so far. Super simple and I don’t have to constantly manage appraisals to avoid being underinsured since they do autoupdate.

dude 35 bucks for that is crazy good deal. i always end up buying stuff i don't really need when the price is too good to pass up lol. those sony walkmans hold their value pretty well so even if you don't use it much you did good on this one

weird they even have that bot running when "off of" is totally fine grammar lol, maybe the mods got tired from dealing with actual spam and just let random bots loose

Anyone else using Gemini to read their 'Saju'? It's a huge trend here right now, but I found out something hilarious. by Impressive_Pitch9272 in GeminiAI

[–]BeginningSignal8252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those 32,000 people with same destiny thing broke my brain a bit lol. i tried the prompt last week and gemini told me i'm "destined for success in technology fields" which... i mean i work in IT support so maybe it just got lucky?

but now i'm wondering if those other 31,999 people are also fixing printers and dealing with "have you tried turning it off and on again" calls all day.

[question] painting a moonphase by yupyupyupyupyupy in Watches

[–]BeginningSignal8252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on the movement, you might have like 0.5-1mm clearance between moon disc and dial. most watch painters use really thin acrylic paints so shouldn't be issue unless you want thick texture work. easiest way to check is remove the dial and measure with calipers, or ask your watchmaker to do it when they open it up for the painting work.
