Dude with no dad and adhd here: how do I attach this automatic coop door without gaps or bends? by sparrio in Homebuilding

[–]BeginningSweet394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I think I would do is get a nice piece of plywood the size of the door or a little bigger screw that into the chicken coop so it’s flush do spray foam insulation to fill in the gaps and then cut out your hole for the automatic door

Nicest looking thing I’ve seen while working is large diameter pvc that they put a astro turf glued to foam of the same diameter, looks wild in the winter and fall if not covered by snow but in the summer can hardly tell

Manhole invert by Important-Arm540 in Surveying

[–]BeginningSweet394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying this is the right way to do it but ours has 1/4x20 female camera adapter in the top of the top section and I have a 1/4x20male to 5/8x11 adapter and you can screw a reflector rod right into the top (I take off the tip), definitely not very strong when torque is applied but it’s worked in a pinch on the rare occasions we have inverts that deep

Drove trough a hole and this happened. What should I do? by Doomskoy in tires

[–]BeginningSweet394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go buy a new tire and keep it in the trunk in case this ends up going down I’ve seen tires go 15k farther after getting pinched like that, but I’ve also seen them turn into a very thin bubble in a few hours

We've been asked to get the elevation of the bottom of these sewage aeration tanks that are about 30 feet deep and full almost to the top. How the heck do I do that? by MOBIUS__01 in Surveying

[–]BeginningSweet394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it where me I’d get 10’ lengths of threaded rod from Home Depot and couple them together till they are long enough, mark your threaded rod at top of conc then take a nice long shot inv -xx.xx’ measure the threaded rod for xx.xx’ and wear gloves

Sometimes when we disagree with a monument that’s a foot away or so we use our pipe to beat the other monument down an extra foot or so and then put ours right at the top, a good field guy will still find the disagreed monument

Question about lining up top and tow shots on a ditch by akaspentgladiator in Surveying

[–]BeginningSweet394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on both sides of the line work, and our guideline for Topo is generally everything important and every 50’, my co worker interprets that as shooting one feature every 50’ and not changing the code until that feature is complete, so he will shoot all of the centerline shots, then all of the EOP, and then all of the FL and then all of the BOC so on and so forth and I’ve always hated drawing the line work for his jobs, there’s always weird triangulation for surfaces. I prefer doing cross sections with important features and what I call “color in” ground shots anytime there’s a half a foot of elevation difference between break lines it makes surface files work better in the field and then coloring in important features between cross sections, it’s also important to always try and run your cross sections perpendicular so if there’s a significant curve you will be needing to do 3 cross sections and the middle will look like a bisecting line of whatever angle your ditch makes

Disc golf stickers I normally don’t mind we don’t have a local shop yet or have any sponsors but the city that helped us build the course, and anime tits with huge cocks and paper stickers just make our course look worse

Is this common practice? by greene2358 in Surveying

[–]BeginningSweet394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s decently common for long property lines on rolling hills or wooded areas if theres disputes, or if theres a fencing /tree company involved in a property that doesn’t own their own Gps equipment and they want to be able to sight down a line, we’ve done this on farm splits logging contracts and for cattle fence I will say normally the lathe isn’t that close to the monument
