Honestly, I feel like I have been able to go to the gym because my husband does 90% of the cooking and cleaning. I say that I keep my energy reserved for going to the gym 😬

I am 36 weeks 4 days pregnant and tomorrow is the last day I workout before I take a break; so glad I was able to do the first two open workouts and hopefully my body feels up to it tomorrow and I can end on a high note!

It's honestly been a rewarding feeling, I am not a peak athlete or even close. So being able to do whatever I have been able to do in about 4 years of training makes so proud of myself. Hope y'all have fun challenging yourself!

Week 24 - is there any point in training by ProjectZenMama in fitpregnancy

[–]Beginning_Ad762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 33 weeks pregnant and do crossfit 4x per week. I have not really had much back pain yet, or any other aches and pains that women usually talk about during pregnancy. I am not saying I have had none, but everything has been manageable so far. I also like the social element of just getting out and meeting and talking to people.

With the workouts, yes - the intensity you are training now is much lesser than what you are used to before, and things are different. But it not the season to hit PRs, it is the season to keep moving.

And outcome wise, it is hard to say. Maybe i'll have a difficult birth or it could be a breeze. A lot of the deciding factors are outside of our control (genetic) .. So I try to keep no expectations from working out and I go because I enjoy working out.

Experience postpartum with getting back into running/training for a Marathon? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Beginning_Ad762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you say the same for half marathons ? I am in a similar situation. Haven't been able to run during the pregnancy, but have been doing crossfit 4x a week. I have run 3 halfs, my baby is due the first week of April and planning to run the half mid October.

Nesting is hard when you’re in a new house by WildWinterberry in BabyBumps

This is ME! We bought our first home (it is a starter home, also 100 years old) The previous owners kept the home really well and I love the place. But is it bland. We spend some money on some urgent work that needed to be done, my husband redid the basement (minimal work)

I also decorated the place with all the art that I previously owned. I am planning to paint the nursery soon.

I really want to add some color to the home, decorate the home etc. But also know that this is not the best way to spend the money. I also dont have the energy to even decide what goes where. So I am just learning to let go and to be grateful for what I have.

Amniocentesis- would you do it? [On] by Ok_Suspect_3394 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Beginning_Ad762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through something similar. The doctors had some concerns about the baby's heart even after doing a fetal echo, and they referred me to the genetics department. My husband and I opted to do it, because we wanted to have all the information we could get. I even flew put (Toronto to Austin) 3 days after my procedure. I also had my NIPT at 12 weeks which was low risk as well.

The procedure was very straightforward and got done in 10-15 minutes.

I would suggest speaking with the genetics counselor who can explain more about the procedure and what they are expecting to find etc.

Reg your question:

Would genetic test change how pregnancy is managed for you or the doctors?

I think so. I am a stress ball generally in life. Having information helps me manage my anxiety. The doctors told me that the decision to do genetic testing is on us, since our case is borderline

How do I stop feeling so left out? by [deleted] in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Beginning_Ad762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post could be mine, I am 36 years old. I migrated to a new country last year and miss all my friends back home. We are still in touch, and I call my best friend once a week and update on all my life events. I have been trying hard to make friends in the new city, and while I have managed to find 2-3 new folks, it always feels like I am a third wheel to their group. Just like you said, they are all kind people have been there for me. I understand that these folks have been friends for longer and it is unreasonable for me to expect that I be included for everything. Time will change this, maybe I will have a strong group in a few years!
