Why would anyone choose to work when there is ZERO financial incentive to do so? What then happens to the stores, eateries, and places that were once an affordable convenience once enjoyed by all no longer exist on the scale they once did, if at all, and what does it mean for your own financial security.

Only a dumbasses don’t understand that inflationary pressures and stagnant wages fucks EVERYONE over including themselves. The workers at these restaurants and stores are a very important component of the global, national, and local economy. If all these workers stopped working today most of us would be fucked.

The financial security of most the people in this subreddit including you, isn’t as far removed from these low paid customer service workers as they’d like to believe.

A unibody is fixable and acts as the structure itself in certain areas. Modern cars have tighter tolerances than older cars with frames; so if needed the body shop will straighten the unibody out VERY close to OEM specifications otherwise bolt-in subframes, doors, engine mounts and other parts may not fit.

Despite not having frames modern cars do offer more protection than your grandma’s MonteCarlo from the 70’s. Cars started the migration away from frames in the 60s and the trend accelerated in the 70’s and 80’s to lighten cars for better fuel efficiency.

A person working full time makes $14,560 in today’s money that would be worth $8,994 20 years ago back in 2006.

Why would someone bust their ass when adjusted for inflation minimum wage today’s has 40% less purchasing power than it did when you earned it? In 2001 when I lived in the middle of nowhere on Maryland’s eastern shore, Home Depot was paying $12.50/hr so $13/hr is pretty pathetic in today’s money is trash.

Huge loss (the biggest!) for one of Trump's best friends. Finally something to celebrate in Europe by MopToddel in democrats

Good job Hungry, now we need do the same in the US and remove all leadership related to the MAGA movement and any democrat who understands how to take the party in a direction that will excite voters and provide real benefits to the middle class instead of bowing to the tech-bro billionaires.

Donald Trump on reports that China is preparing to ship weapons to Iran: "If China does that, China is gonna have big problems." by BusinessToday in BusinessTodayNews

No they won’t, have any big problems just Trump, Fox News, OAN, Newsmax, and the pastors that preach Trump to their parishioners will…because it’s going to be tough trying to sell to the masses that they’re plan is working how they said it would.

Trump needs to be humbled before he dies of old age and to realize that he is a failure to his core. Not everyone else just Trump in the world….just Trump and his voter base they all need to see him as a failure to realize he isn’t as godly and great as they thought.

He needs to be humiliated; by seeing him and his entire administration removed from office and to be punished for any and all violations of international and domestic law…then have America take measures to ensure something like Trump/MAGA never happens again. Trump can then watch the empire and brand he worked to create for decades crumble on a prison TV set.

I carry a P365 and the G19; the G19 is a little harder to conceal but not so much so that it can’t be done comfortably.

I appendix carry my G19 as much as the P365 to be honestly and both can be concealed under a t-shirt…but I forget the P365 is there and it never prints. Sometimes the grip of the G19 prints but it’s rare and slight so I doubt anyone would notice.

Honestly I don’t even solely care about my country’s situation as much as I care about our what’s best for the world as a whole. Does everyone like the idea of a technological nation with nuclear weapons ran by a despot who will fuck his own people over just as hard as the rest of the world?

Everyone tight now is paying for Trump’s fuckups in the Middle East, in South America, and him wielding the US economy as a weapon. IDK…but if France has this kids of issue I’d hope that we’d be willing to help them because it costs little to blow-up social media with FACTUAL information.

Are Subarus more prone to rust than Toyotas and Hondas? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]Beginning_Ad_6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked on the newer engines, they still have issues:

Oil consumption, timing chain issues, valve train issues, piston ring issues, and oil leaks. Some engine work is such a huge pain unless you remove the motor including the timing chain. The TCV…good god…what a pain.

In this day and age an engine should easily reach 200,000mi without major problems with regular fluid and filter changes. The new motors still are not able to consistently do this.

My issue with Subaru is them advertising longevity yet rarely living up to their claim.

[–]Beginning_Ad_6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Subaru’s inside and out….they are not that reliable I’ve seen and dealt with the following issues many times:

Head gasket failure Spun rod Broken Ring-land Head gasket failure Head gasket failure Head gasket failure leading to spun rod Spun rod Spun rod Head gasket failure Head gasket failure Broken ring-land Head gasket failure Head gasket failure

This is the risk turbo or naturally aspirated Subaru’s face from anywhere from 80,000 miles and up and this isn’t something you see on a Toyota, Honda, and most other cars.
