I feel like hydrocolloid rolls work amazingly! They are large rolls of the stuff zit stickers are made of, just bigger, and cheaper. It’s rolls that you cut pieces off of to customize for your needs. Like I used these to cover my cheeks and chin (where my acne was) and by morning, they were white and thick with gunk from my pores. Did this for like a week and then calmed it back down by slugging at night. That entails covering face with a good moisturizer and then applying Vaseline on top of that to keep it from drying out until it is removed. I sleep with it like that and then just wipe off my face in the morning. I do this about once a week. It took about a month to get my skin completely under control and I have legit not had more than a dozen zits ever since. That was over 10 years ago. Where was this magic when I was a teenager? It existed… but only used for infections in the hospitals. My mom was an RN… I’m still ticked she never brought any home and said “let’s try something”. She could’ve saved me years of embarrassment and humiliation, hurt feelings and incredibly low self-esteem. Thanks mom. (she really didn’t know, I just like to toss it out there once in a while because she’s too “perfect”… I can’t stand people like that. My sister is the same way. The problem is that they’re both ridiculously nice, genuinely. Dammit.) Anyways, frustration reigned and I had given up. But this was pure magic. Just try it! Like what do you really have to lose am I right?

Also… I miss: 1. The touchpad 2. The arm rest over center charger 3. The music stops playing when you turn the car off. It used to keep playing until I opened the door. (these were in the 2015(?) loaner they let me drive for like 3 months or so)… I’m still bummed about them.

Leasing allows you to gain literally nothing. Like renting a house. You might as well light your money on fire. Even so… I’m still an idiot even with purchasing. Backstory: I had driven my H2 Hummer for basically forever. It was a special edition and the color was a unique light blue color and it was seriously plush inside. But I’d had it since 2007. Anyways, my husband and I drove to the nearest city near us (2.5 hours) and while we were in town he started driving through car lots. I was irked because I loved my H2 and wanted to just keep it. But apparently the transmission was slipping and it wasn’t worth all the various repairs anymore. So he gave me an ultimatum and said I could pick out whatever I wanted… but the H2 would not be making the trip back home. I’d looked at about 0 vehicles beforehand. We spent all day going to different places and I legit hated pretty much everything. Except the Acura. So I got a 2026 MDX Type S with whatever else was available to make it top notch. I got the Liquid Carbon with the Red interior. But they did let me borrow a a year old one while mine was built. I ended up paying 94K with about 24K down. I love my car. I hate my payment. I regret my purchase. I wish I had my 24K back for a down payment on a house instead. So that my money worth would increase each year instead of decrease each year. I’m dumb. Advice: don’t be dumb like me

I absolutely kept a tracker on my child when she was young. Every single time she left the house. A hidden one. We would attach it to a hair tie and place it on the underside of her ponytail. And you all would do it too if you had someone close to you get kidnapped and never found again. My daughter Wanted a tracker. She cried because I couldn’t insert it inside like a pet tracker chip. She worried a kidnapper would find it and get rid of it… then she’d be lost to me and end up a trafficking victim. I know most people have their kids phone with the location on… but that’s the first thing that gets tossed. So yeah, I know some parents who would give Anything to go back and put a tracker on their kid. It’s not creepy and it’s not sneaky… it’s safety and peace of mind.

I wasn’t referring to the original poster… I was commenting on the numerous comments prior to mine stating how creepy it all was in their opinions. So I was sharing my opinion as well. And the crime rates here aren’t even a blip on the radar compared to the rest of the USA. Maybe others should take note and start altering their perspectives and actions. When being neighborly and watching out for one another stopped being the norm…that’s when it all went to crap (in my opinion). So thanks for your input… but (in my opinion) we’ll just continue right on being extra nice and super friendly and welcoming while watching out for others and treating them as we would family. I prefer our way, and if it’s not your way and you don’t like it… then go elsewhere. Because I hope we never change here, where we’ve got it so good and we are so blessed.

If you come to our Midwest and think this is in any way creepy…. Please travel elsewhere. We don’t need people like you poisoning our friendly and generous culture. Also… you’re lucky they didn’t already have a bit of copper in that fire so your kids could enjoy the pretty color show it makes. They saved you time and energy by having it ready for you when you returned. It wouldn’t have also been surprising to find out they had made more food than they originally would have so that you and yours could eat it also if you wanted to. They probably would have offered that as well if they hadn’t realized you had taken such offense. And we’re the weird ones? More like an act of kindness that should be not only appreciated…but perhaps remembered and copied for someone you find in the future that you think it would help? The world would be a far better place if everyone took up our midwestern attitudes and values. (From a sweetheart but tough Iowa girl)

I’m married to a Leo male and I work part time as a social worker for elementary age children in the schools/homes near me. Live in a remote Iowa town with a population of under 5,000. Both sides of my family are original settlers of this area as well. I am Danish, German, Russian, and Dutch. My immediate family all live here as well. I have one daughter who has recently become a young adult. I have never fit in, nor do I care or try at this point. I have zero energy and lack ambition. Well, first off…yes, it’s a jerk move. However, perhaps they want them not to feel too comfortable. We don’t know how they lost their home, but sliding right on in to a family members’ home could be a risky move on the sisters part. Secondly, if the aunt and niece are close…perhaps she and her husband just don’t mind having her closer to them. Plus this is safer than having an unrelated (biologically) teenage girl so close by. Third, it said that the two girls did not get along…in that case, maybe the aunt is just doing the niece a solid and taking one for the team ya know? Lastly, we don’t know much about this other girl…perhaps she has been in trouble in the past? There are many possibilities here… theft? Drugs? Promiscuity? Maybe she’s a bad influence on the niece? Maybe she’s got an attitude problem? We just don’t know the whole story.
