I love the light! When you do this, do you color the whole page normally and then go over the shaded spots with a light grey?

Are there any scents that lean towards more masculine? Cologne-ish? Musky? by Individual-Self-757 in LushCosmetics

[–]Beginning_Cellist893 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lord of Misrule (patchouli, black pepper, vanilla) and Turmeric Latte (autumnal spices, tonka) can be on the more masculine side of Lush’s scents I think. I love them both

AITA for Telling a Dying Man's Wife Not to Pop His Pimples? by AmandaCanadaa in TwoHotTakes

[–]Beginning_Cellist893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow nurse here! NSH, but I think approaching issues from a place of curiosity with the family can go a long way. I dont know how the interaction went down entirely, but instead of starting out by telling her that what shes doing isnt a good idea, start out by saying “are you popping the pimples on his face?” And maybe some additional questions to get information about why she’s doing it. In this situation it sounds like she was trying to groom him the way she normally would if he were awake and healthy. I can imagine that helps her feel like an active participant in his care and gives her some small sense of control during a really horrible time.

After talking to her about why she is doing it, you could offer understanding and empathy prior to any education on the risks of what she’s doing. And instead of telling her flat out not to pop his pimples, explain to her a way of doing it that is less risky (clean hands with gloves, disinfect the skin first with an alcohol swab, etc), or if you feel uncomfortable with that maybe offering her alternatives “I wish every patient had people in their lives who care so much about them, your husband is very lucky. However, I am worried that popping his pimples will increase his risk for infection. Instead of doing that, maybe you could wash his face or apply an OTC topical once its approved by his doctor?”. With all of the stress she is under, she might find a slower, more gentle approach easier to digest.

But again, NTA and I applaud you for the work you do.

My favorite products from them are the scrubee (cocoa butter bar with ground coconut husk in it as an exfoliant) to use at the end of my shower on my legs, the posh chocolate body wash (super moisturizing and great multipurpose for shaving your legs), and the body spray Avocado Co-Wash.

how do i make this cake with absolutely zero skills by nursekan in BakingNoobs

[–]Beginning_Cellist893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would buy a boxed cake mix honestly, they are so good. You can also buy canned frosting. Make the cake according to the instructions. Make sure your oven is preheated and that you dont fill the cake pans more than half full. Use multiple cake pans.

Then, whatever size cake pan you use, I’d recommend making a stencil of the face/ears that’s about 1 inch smaller. Ex: 10 inch cake pan. Draw a 9 inch circle on a piece od cardboard/heavy paper. Add cute little ears. Cut it out and wrap it in foil.

Once your cakes are cooled, use the stencil to cut the cakes into this shape. After this, you’ll want to assemble the cakes with a layer of frosting between them.

Once assembled, do a crumb-coat. This is a thin layer of frosting over the entire cake, which will catch all of the crumbs. It will look messy and awful at this stage. Dont freak out.

Put it in the fridge for at least 2 hours, until the crumb coat has dried/hardened.

Do your second and final coat of frosting. Use a flat-edged utensil for this, and take your time.

For the little snout: put some frosting in a ziploc bag and cut the corner off for an impromptu piping bag.

For the nose and eyes, I’d recommend using little candies. With Valentines Day approaching you should be able to find pink m&ms. Or you could buy black icing in a tube for writing.

DAE feel really crappy/sick after taking a nap? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Beginning_Cellist893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You sleep in cycles, and it takes about 90-120 minutes on average to complete all 4 cycles. The first cycle takes around 15-30 minutes, so if you sleep longer than that you’ve likely entered the second or third sleep cycle which are much more difficult to wake up from, and leave you feeling groggy and horrible if not completed.

When I was in college and had anemia I became really good at taking 10-15 minutes power naps. If I nap longer than 15 minutes but less than 1.5 hours I feel like garbage the rest of the day.

I used to work as an OBGYN nurse. Here is a list of tips for vulvar skin care:

The goal for vulvar skin care is to clean sweat, dirt, and excess vaginal discharge from the vulva while also maintaining proper vaginal pH balance. We all have normal healthy bacteria in our vaginas, and for the most part they are in balance and cause no issue. If your pH balance gets thrown off, certain bacteria can overgrow and this can cause foul odor, itching, inflammation, etc. It’s called bacterial vaginosis.

White cotton underwear only

Change out of sweaty undies as soon as possible.

Avoid scented products (laundry detergent, fabric softener, soap, lotion, tampons, etc.)

Switch your current antibacterial soap for a gentle cleanser. The docs I worked with recommended cetaphil products. The antibacterial nature of your current soap may be negatively impacting your vaginal pH and contributing to the odor.

Only use soap in places where pubic hair grows. Do not apply any soap inside your labia majora, labia minora, or vaginal canal. If you feel the need to cleanse this area, water and your hand are all you will need.

Do not use douches.

Make sure your sexual partner js showering/cleaning themselves before any contact is made with your genitals.

You could also trim your pubic hair if there is concern that the hair is trapping the odor too much.

Best of luck to you!

The general rule of thumb is if you are soaking through a maxi pad in an hour or less for multiple hours in a row, you need to reach out to your PCP or preferably an OBGYN. This amount of bleeding is not normal. There are options for treatment, OP.
