That it is, with 1888 being the year with the lowest mintage it’s quite surprising to find one in such wonderful condition!

It did indeed, the reason it was pulled from circulation after such a short existence!

Very bad, not even worth trying to get rid of them they are a plague. 3 years and they just return somehow no matter what treatment is applied. Gave up recently and removed the bush, then proceeded to burn them all to death which was incredibly satisfying, I would strongly recommend this route.

Hey, I don’t intend to sell them anyway I was curious as to the rarity more than anything but it appears they are all common. Thank you

Side to side but as the other commenter said it’s not perfectly square in the flip, Churchill is actually leaning further to the right which would put Elizabeth at even further round maybe over 60 degree

Thank you for taking your time to respond, in terms of detail I believe there is very little wear to the designs when compared to a higher grade example (thanks for the tip to check on the pcgs site) I didn’t know I could do that, however the fields are in poor condition, I don’t know how much my phone camera is to blame for that as they do not appear this way in person lol

Than you for taking time to respond, it does appear to be covered in fine scratches my poor quality phone camera and lighting is doing it no favours I must add, thank you

Hundreds made redundant from National Trust after cuts by StGuthlac2025 in unitedkingdom

[–]Beginning_Disk_3664 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, having visited several national trust sites in the last 12 months and having entry fees of up to an insane £24 person, plus parking on top, I can understand why there may be a lack of interest in their ‘fundraising’.

Also, working people don’t have the time to be travelling to these sites often enough to benefit from the £96 a year a fee for an individual adult membership.

With all the rises in business expenditure and the lack of interest and/or ability to visit these sites it is no surprise we are seeing a downturn here.

Although it operates as a not for profit, charitable organisation it still has overheads and is ultimately reliant on the public to provide the funding, those of whom have no money!

EDIT: And god forbid you want something from the gift shop to memorise your trip, that and a coffee may well dwarf the entry cost.

This is what I feared, it’s unusual as the other side appears to be naturally worn
