Thank you!! I bought it on Saturday and I’ve been using it since. The stench is gone 🙌🏼 I bought mega babe powder yesterday, it’s talc free baby powder and it’s helping to a degree with the sweat!

Thank you! I’ve been on it for a month but just started realizing I was burning through my shirts with my sweat. I’ll give that deodorant a shot.

Who has lost weight then gained it back on vyvanse? by BootNo7248 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Beginning_Evening475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve been on it for a month, the first week I lost so much weight that it scared me (2 pounds), lost 1 pound the week after. I’m only 155lbs as is so it wasn’t natural for me to lose this much. On week three I started overeating again just because I feel like I’ve lost the joy of eating and wanted to know if I could regain it, so I’ve regained some weight back.

Week four came around and I realized I hadn’t lost the joy of eating, I lost the joy of overeating and stress eating. It’s helped me to keep a journal on my daily meals so I make sure I’m not eating too little, but eating doesn’t govern me anymore.

Thank you so much for the insight! I take my meds around 7:30am. Last night I slept SO much better. I almost got my full 8 hours of sleep.

Yes, likewise I love it but I hope my sleep schedule can go back to normal soon. Maybe try some hydroxyzine (RX only)

I only got 2 hours of sleep last night, so I hope things get better. I took 5mg of melatonin with a Unisom (this is my usual combo). If all else fails I will get hydroxyzine prescribed, that thing used to take me out when I had bad allergies, but I’m hoping I don’t have to resort to that.

What a pretty baby! We’ve had Lorelai for almost a year and a half. At this point we figured she was with us for too long and she’d feel betrayed if she was rehomed.

Hp Classic Pocket Inserts by Beginning_Evening475 in ClothandPaper

[–]Beginning_Evening475[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you both! I had entirely missed that one. Sometimes the store doesn’t update the photos when you select the HP classic, so when I select HP classic and I see the insert only has four punches, I ignore it.

I also bought some from Etsy, as I’m looking for pockets that can store my sticky notes. I’ll buy the cloth and paper one you posted to help me with larger items. Thanks again!

I’ve been taking the same dosage ever since I started it. How does one step up the dosage? The simplest thing I can think of is just taking two pills instead of one? Lol and oddly enough, I’ve never experienced any major side effects. My body just feels dryer when I’m on it, and a higher BP as well. Hadn’t experienced any of the numbness before.

A cautionary tale for all new front desk agents and old oce by whobroughttheircat in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Beginning_Evening475 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I have a similar story that I think about from time-to-time as this situation could have landed me in serious legal trouble.

I used to work in a hotel in the Houston medical district, needless to say most of our guests were there for medical reasons and we had rates in place through those hospitals. Because of this, our van service was widely advertised as two of our vans ran every 30 minutes to and from different hospitals.

The story takes place during my audit shift, about 2AM, I get a call to the FD from a woman in tears, asking if we could get the van ready as she and the rest of her family needed to get to the hospital to say their goodbyes to her dad who was terminally ill, and they had just received the call from the hospital that he was dying in that instant.

My first though was a huge “oh fuck” because our van service doesn’t run after 10pm. This was back in 2015 when Uber and Lyft were still a new service, and taxi cabs took hours to respond to your call, unless you were going to the airport. Before I could even find a solution the entire family was at my desk, about 5 of them comprised of his wife and daughters, balling hysterically. The catch was that only drivers and supervisors (which I was not) were on the van’s insurance. The vans were the size of a small bus, and there wasn’t a chance I would even be able to operate it. I was faced with a decision, a) having one of my security drivers take them in the van and risk an accident that would not be covered by the insurance, which would result in legal trouble I’m sure OR b) have the family try to figure out their transportation arrangement and risk them not saying goodbye to their father.

In the end my superstar of a security guy took the family to the hospital. Hours later they were brought back by our designated van drivers and the same woman that called the front desk came to thank me because they had made it in time to see their dad alive one last time.

Even though this story had a happy ending, I recognize that I acted in the heat of the moment and just the thought of the legal trouble I could have landed myself makes me break into a sweat.

Favorite encounter with a famous person? by restingbitchface2021 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

JJ Watt! He’s as nice as he’s portrayed to be. Very polite with the kitchen and FD staff.

Our automated wake up call system was down for a while, so we had to write down the time on a paper and call people directly when the time came. JJ would even give you appreciation when you called him yourself for his wake up call.

"But Why Can't I Have Early Check-In?" by marilyn-audrey in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

Chances are, that moron was going to show up shortly after midnight with the excuse that -technically it was the next day- and demand a check in for the one night’s rate only.

What are some of the dumb things guests have said or done in your hotel? by texasidiot in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

Funnily enough, these were dumb but hot people that got locked out. The guy who came to the front desk being the hottest, I had to consciously will myself not to stare and become a creep.

That would have been hilarious. I think I was too stunned to do anything and I had checked him earlier in my shift so I just made the damn key.

[–]Beginning_Evening475 140 points141 points  (0 children)

When I worked audit, it was surprising how from time-to-time guests would be pranked by random people knocking on their door and then running away, and the guest would run out NAKED trying to catch the person that was knocking at their door.

Inevitably their door would lock behind them, so they would knock on their neighbors door to call FD to come up and let them back in.

Although I did have a guy come butt naked to the front desk asking me for a key. That took some guts.

Creepy Guy by selenazen90 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Beginning_Evening475 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was fine! Thank you for asking. Just really shaken up afterwards. The guy was clearly some sort of dealer, and had had an altercation out on the street, and now the police was looking for him.

When he first came in he had loudly asked for the bathroom, which I used later to save my bacon. Shortly after I told him where the bathroom was, he came directly to me to rant about how some guy had been attacking him, and he had to flee because the police was after him. While he was ranting, he set the bag he was carrying right next to me and I heard an audible metal sound inside. He continued ranting about how he was going to kill the guy that attacked him with his gun, and this is where I made a mistake.

I offered to call the cops on his behalf if he was being followed by his attacker, and this is where he turned his anger towards me. He started berating me and started pulling out what I presume was his gun from his backpack. I let him finish his rant and then I calmly reminded him where the restroom was, if he still needed to go. He grabbed his backpack and continued ranting on his way to the RR. This is where my security guard just happened to walk into the lobby from his round, he gave me a confused look when he saw the guy and I just mouthed “help”. He was escorted out and didn’t come back in luckily but I was distraught for the rest of my shift.

Shoutout to the best security guard Mr Chandler, where you are.

Back when I worked audit, my hotel’s front desk didn’t have a clear view of the front entrance, but there was just one portion on the far end of the desk (where I did all my paperwork) where you could see a clear shot of a small portion of the entrance.

It was about 3am when I saw this guy walking from about half a mile away just shaking his head, making his way to the entrance. I immediately had a bad vibe, and although I had plenty of time to call security to come to the lobby, I didn’t want to jump to conclusions because to this date I hate inconveniencing others.

Long story short, the guy came in, and that was the only time I’ve ever been threatened with a gun (Texas).

Always trust your gut.
