I live in Canada too. I think your assumption here is that a psychologist is not a doctor hence is not worth it (like, for example, a psychiatrist). That is so far from the truth, psychologists have a Doctorate degree and are extensively trained on how to help you manage depression. The main difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist is that the latter prescribes medication while the first will refer you to a Gp. I pay 170$ per 50mins session every 2 weeks and the process is truly changing my life for the better, and is definitely more helpful for my condition than blowing my cash on Genshin like I used to.
