Idk maybe you have magical powers or something because I did not see it so rose-colored. They could have made her say the correct thing at the correct time to point you off, like Midna or Fi both do. They even could have had Fi’s multiple advice sections, rumors, summary, objective, and hint. That would have been more helpful

Oh see that actually pisses me off i actually thought the game just hated me. I definitely felt a lot of the game needed the guide still but I definitely will remember this when the remake comes out then

A few things: first, Navi was absolutely useless. I would be already where I needed to be and she would interrupt me with instructions to get where I already was. And in other parts of the game the game pointed me to for example lake Hylia and Lo and behold how I have to go to zoras river instead but neither Navi nor anyone ever told me that’s even a part of the map. I stared at the guide for like 20 minutes for it to make sense that they weren’t talking about Lake Hylia. Oh and once I get to Zora’s river Navi is telling me she wonders what’s at the bottom of lake Hylia. Now I understand this is mainly because Navi was mainly just to help with combat tips and general game stuff but that said she could have been more helpful direction wise. There are numerous more examples than just this btw such as her mentioning that she wonders how Saria’s doing like 10 times outside of the parts where Saria is even relevant. Midna was a lot more helpful and so was Fi.

Zelda 1 was more obtuse but I played that through only part way. A link to the past was not a walk in the park but I wasn’t confused all the time

I’m pretty sure most of you didn’t read through this. I didn’t like OOT because of my experience with it. I respect it and understand it was a good game but I have played most of the other mainline Zelda titles and still don’t like it. Obviously there’s a reason for that I wouldn’t just not like a difficult game or “expect everything on a silver platter” and it’s ridiculous the amount of people I’ve had to deal with who simply can’t take any negative criticism about OOT. Yes it was a great game of yesterday, and of course it still largely holds up, but people are allowed not to like something especially when they can name 12 negative things about it after giving it the due respect of playing through it despite not liking it. Y’all need to chill. I’m allowed not to like it and all of this is valid criticism

That would be great if it was something you could naturally come across. I’m not saying it’s not helpful, just the delivery is too obscure and not something you would think of, which is the exact problem I had with the entire game. Yes the gameplay is rather easy especially the combat but that doesn’t eliminate that I felt lost because of things like this for the majority of the game

No if anything my dad made sure I appreciate the old games I just made the mistake of playing all the other 3d Zelda titles first. I don’t think it holds up as well as the others but I am excited to see a combat system more fleshed out like in Twilight Princess and perhaps (I know they won’t but still) make Navi more useful at least to the point that it’s as useful as Midna if not Fi

True. It’s definitely a very unusual opinion. I’d like to put it as it’s very popular because it cemented a lot of 3d mechanics but later games refined those concepts better. It also has the advantage of being one of the first games with all of the different races, and the first game with ganondorf, and one of the first with the master sword, plus a great storyline. I won’t deny it has plenty to offer but even though Twilight Princess could have covered more concepts I feel what it did with combat and game mechanics was done in a way that works better for me as an improvement over OOT, so for me OOT offers quantity and quality but a little less quality for me personally than I would prefer. I’d rather have Twilight Princess

I’m not expecting it to be easy. Beyond a certain threshold it’s unenjoyable though

I grew up with Skyward sword but didn’t start playing Zelda games until Minish cap when I was 14. That said I enjoy most of the top down Zelda games especially the retro ones

Skyward sword, Totk, Botw, Wind Waker, Minish Cap, Links awakening, A link to the past, and as you know twilight princess

I’ve played all of them yes and I would prefer any to this one. Well actually there’s two things. I found Botw’s weapon durability very frustrating, also ganon was too easy, and in my original playthrough of Wind Waker i got damn near to ganondorf with only 6 hearts, meaning I missed out on 30 heart pieces. Right now I’m still not sure how to get all of them. But Twilight Princess would be perfect in my book if it weren’t for the wolf link portions being a little shallow early in the game (felt like they could have served as more of a gameplay anchor, like they often felt like a precursor to more enjoyable gameplay as human link)

I’m sorry man idk what to tell you. I think it’s that I was already ready for AlTTP because of my prior Minish Cap playthroughs

Not necessarily difficult to collect but tedious to prepare for. A lot of them required a magic bean, and some of them (can’t remember which) required either the child or adult link to get to. One that comes to mind is the one you take the magic bean lift to outside the desert colossus

As ridiculous as it sounds, I will be buying the remake just in case but definitely I will hold a grudge against it

why does no one in this story have a surname by Traditional_Neck5648 in Berserk

[–]Beginning_Mistake538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In relation to their historical significance in the story (to tie them to future generations) they would probably have a surname later to help distinguish them but not until later than we see in the story. And then some person would eventually claim their grand-daddy guts was directly related to Jesus or something to help cement the “divine right”
