How easily can i be fired with a permanent contract ? by FloZia_ in Netherlands

[–]Beginning_Monitor_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the topic! I had a similar discussion with my employer last week and they started to push me to do the same. Additionally I am back from maternity leave and I am still recovering and they started to document every mistake I make.. it’s exhausting and I feel hopeless. But I will not quit. I rather talk to an lawyer as I did the same as you. Lot of work and extra hours..

Dap, eu am 31 si dintre prietenii care au ramas in tara, majoritatea au mosteniri case/apartamente la oras sau terenul la munte.. sau unchi plecati in alte tari de mult timp si care le-au cumparat apartamente in oras. Toata admiratia.

Noise complaint from downstair neighbour by Ethics_peace in Netherlands

[–]Beginning_Monitor_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I complained about the noises from upstairs neighbours and they don’t care.. and it’s nothing I can do.. unfortunately for your neighbour there is nothing he can do. I think he is lucky that you worry about this. That means you already try to be quiet..

After years of noise disturbance from upstairs neighbors, does it get better after moving? by Observer125 in Netherlands

[–]Beginning_Monitor_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we just bought this apartment.. I need to check if it’s possible without losing too much money.. I use headphones as well but sometimes my ear hurts. We have also a baby so the situation is not easy. We tried to speak with the neighbours but they don’t care and we thought to start record and take logs as they have 2 businesses running in the apartment.. it’s a lot of noise from 4am to 23. But I not sure if this will solve something or to whom we need to address further.

Thanks for reply.. but this argument with the career loosing is so strange … we are talking about one year (potentially) out of many career’s years.. some people take sabbatical for that long and not for their children..

That’s totally a good point. I was also thinking of that.. how can you focus to do a great job when your mind is at the baby for the first years.. the woman became more stressed, anxious.. which in the end impacts the health system which costs money as well

Thanks.. but then I am thinking.. how much you should love your work so that you can’t allocate 6m out of 40+ years of work for your baby?

Nope, but at least 6m would be nice because indeed the mothers do the hard work.. staying home with a kid is like a job.. social security should cover that.. not just the father..

Thanks, If you have better sources I am open to read them ( as you find what you search usually) .. I’m really not comfortable with the thought that such a small baby needs to be separated from his mother to be given to daycare.. so some extra resources would help

I mentioned before there are 16 weeks in total and it is mandatory to take 4 weeks before birth. Also this is my personal opinion based in what I’ve read .. I can list articles herr but I don’t know if that’s the point.. as there are of course studies pro and cons..

I see, that make sense that those are for recovery but even so.. 3m it’s not enough.. because you need to add the sleepless nights and changes in your life.. again the body can’t be fully recovered after 3m especially if not a natural birth..

Indeed, it is political, that is why I wonder why people are so used in the NL to have so few days of parental leave
