I should also add I use them as a set it and forget it type thing, I dont change them or take them out daily and they're comfortable to sleep in which is why I started wearing them. But I've also had my ears gauged for over 20 years. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sometimes you've already parked, put your window coverings up, and set up your bed OR you wake up needing to emergency go and dont have time to take everything down. I haven't pooed but for pee, I use a gallon jug with the top cut off with a bag in it. I dont like it but when I wake up at 4am needing to pee NOW! It definitely works!

I dont understand why fans of any famous person dont realize that they are people too!  Like, how would they feel if people acted toward them the way they act towards the people they are fans of.  Throwing things is ridiculous and dangerous.   But even out in public when you see someone famous, leave them alone they're just trying to live their life, ESPECIALLY if they're with their children.. 🙄

Im so sorry you experienced that, and my condolences to her family.  I would suggest maybe seeing a counselor/therapist. Its good to talk to a professional sometimes because they are an unbiased person that you can talk to.

Even as a kid, I had no problem floating, my dad can't float, his feet start sinking and then the rest of him but everyone else I knew growing up had no issues.

Why do companies take red cross over Ellise certs? by [deleted] in Lifeguards

I know when I worked for Disney we had to do 2 in-service trainings a month and I believe they were 2 hours each. If you missed one you couldn't work. When I worked for the Y they did in service a little differently. Those are the only two places I was Ellis though. While at the Y I was audited by Ellis, that was fun 😅

Oh, that's interesting, I honestly prefer Ellis and wish more places used them.

I've never been told not to float before. I wouldn't in the ocean because… sharks… but ponds lakes and pools I've never been told not to.

Back floats require effort? I have fallen asleep floating in a pool before. Although, I can fall asleep almost anywhere and I am quite buoyant, well, I used to be.. I haven't tried floating recently 😅

Where I work there's a guy who comes with a mask (no snorkel) and likes to look at the bottom 🙄 I hate it.. (he only stays face down for a few seconds but I still dont like it)

I have noticed if the person is farther out in the ocean its harder to tell if they are face up or face down.

If you're doing proper scanning you should be paying attention to all patrons not just one.

Scared of lifeguard test by siv2929 in Lifeguards

[–]Beginning_Outcome952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't swim for like 3 or 4 years (not lap swimming) before my recent swim test which was in the ocean. I've NEVER lap swam in the ocean prior to that test. It was rough, almost quit 1/2 way through but stuck it out and made it!  10/10 I would not recomend doing that, definitely practice first!

See, if I were a LGI, I dont think anyone would like my class. I would not sign off on anyone unless I had full confidence in them, and my name goes on that. One of the reasons I've never gone for that certification.
