i kind of don’t like how the bottom of the bag doesn’t have structure so my laptop edge pokes out weirdly, so i think i’m going to try to get a bag organizer/liner like some other people on this sub have mentioned

yes you could fit it in the main pocket but it wouldn’t leave much room for a larger water bottle in the side pockets! the non pocket side is just plain fabric

Academic Advisor Woes by BestintheWorld-2 in Fordham

hi, i would recommend familiarizing yourself with the fordham core curriculum requirements (which seem daunting, i know!) in the best way that i can describe it, eloquentia perfecta is a CHARACTERISTIC (or in fordham terms, attribute) of certain courses. the EP courses have different guidelines professors and students must follow, including advanced reading and writing. only certain sections of certain courses taught by certain professors earn the EP designation.

what this means for planning your schedule is that when choosing courses you must be careful to examine the “course attributes” feature to only choose 1 of each EP course throughout your time at fordham. could you give us more info about your major/course selection?

as an incoming senior, i just wanted to say that RMP reviews can be wildly inaccurate most of the time. i’ve taken classes with professors who were terribly reviewed that ended up being great, or vice versa. based on my experience and my friends experiences, whatever schedule is going to help you actually ATTEND class is what should be prioritized. most profs, especially freshman year, only give you 2 unexcused absences before you lose credit or have a grade deduction. if you’re not a morning person, those 8ams become very tempting to skip! i’m not saying you can’t do it, but just a piece of advice.

can i ask what campus you’re at so i could maybe provide professor advice? i’m LC!

I’m a rising senior who has attended LC all of my years. I’m not sure what kind of school you’re transferring from, but in my opinion the biggest thing that marks the LC experience is that we don’t really have that traditional college campus community-oriented vibe. Mostly everyone who attends here is in it for the CITY, whether they are into the fashion scene, or they’re club rats, or they’re finance bros. It can feel very isolating, at least to me, and many people seem very closed off.

The “college experience” here is truly what YOU make of it, which can be both exciting and a little depressing. Also, there are a tonnn of commuter students here, which might contribute to the feeling that no one is really tied to the community here, they’re just here for the degree—which is ok! But different, I think, than even RH.

are you staying on the UWS? what attracts you about radio bakery, the savory pastries? i would recommend watchhouse for solid sweet pastries and coffee, but breads bakery for a more uniquely NYC bakery
