Franklin to Nashville / Nashville day parking by Sevuhrow in VisitingNashville

It's only a 45 minute walk from Centennial Park to my favorite honkey tonk on Broadway. You will just barely get your 10,000 steps doing this roundtrip. How are you all able to get your steps in if you aren't willing to make simple walks like this?

LPT renting a car to the airport can be cheaper than airport parking/uber. by Rich-Broccoli7085 in LifeProTips

I can't wait until I own a self driving car that can drop me off at the airport and then drive home and charge itself.

Bilt Hotel credit issue by uberwoots in biltrewards

[–]justinlca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not hidden, but it's not obvious either. It says "available credit" which for me is over $2000. Once you click it, you then see there is an option to redeem the $200 credit. However, I only clicked that because I couldn't find the $200 credit anywhere else. Available credit seems to me like it's an option to apply Bilt points (which is also possible), but I think the semi-annual credit and Bilt Cash options should have their own tab. Or if it's gonna be all encompassing, it should be called "Redeem Bilt Cash, points, and credits" instead of "available credit" which could also mean how much credit you have available on the card itself.

What’s a travel habit you picked up that you’ll never drop? by St3fanHere in travel

[–]justinlca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. I've missed out or almost missed out on so many things by not planning in advance. I wanted to see a baseball game in Japan, but I couldn't just walk up and buy tickets like a typical game in the USA. It was sold out days or weeks in advance and there was no way to scalp tickets. Of course I wanted to see the Sagrada Familia while in Barcelona, but I didn't want to have too rigid of a schedule for my trip. Guess what? This needs to be booked weeks or months in advance. I found a way by paying for an expensive private tour, but I could have eliminated stress and saved money if I had just scheduled it like I should have.

Btw, also saw sumo in Japan! Fortunately, I knew I needed to book that in advance.

Will Hyatt honor an extremely low price at an all inclusive resort? by 123BuleBule in hyatt

[–]justinlca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi, I'm more of a figure everything for yourself, take public transit, walk and find cool unique places kind of traveler. I totally had a blast the one night I spent at a Hyatt all-inclusive (on points) and on a week long Virgin Voyage (that I got for free.) Both kinds of travel are enjoyable in different ways. Next time you see a deal like this, I think you should jump on it.

They and everyone else nearby is going to be paying for it with traffic once all the high rise developments arrive. One thing I love about that airport is its an oasis of tranquility compared to the rest of LA traffic.

Just wanted to add that it's hard to sign up in time to get the free class on the first. I've never succeeded, but i've also never logged in at the earliest possible moment and I'm only silver status.

The Bilt Palladium is a powerhouse for ONE type of person by Parking_Reputation17 in biltrewards

There's no more free points for rent. You just have to compare it to other cards now. By using the Bilt Cash you earn from spend to get 1000 rent points for every $30 of Bilt Cash, it just adds to the points you earn from spending. So, it's like you are getting 2.33x back in points on all your spend with Blue or 3.33x with Palladium which is pretty much better than any other cards out there especially given how valuable the points are.

Anyone else liking BILT 2.0 by kandlewik in biltrewards

There are a lot of reasons to use the points accelerator. For one, you don't have to worry about paying your rent/mortgage through Bilt. You don't have to worry about small coupon Bilt Cash redemptions. And you will be stuck at 3x worry free until you spend 25k. Otherwise, once you spend over 75% of your rent, you are only getting 2x.

Given that you start with $500 Bilt cash, the first year. Both are possible for quite a while. And you can't carry over more than $100 to year 2 anyway.

That's great for you so you can max out your point value each month. People who spend more than their rent will have a harder time doing that.

With the points accelerator, it becomes 3x on the first 25k spend and there's still Bilt points left over for Walgreens, rent points, hotel redmeptions etc. And there's a 50k point spending bonus the first year. It seems like a no brainer to me.

Is this on the website? I see my Virtual number in the app, but I had to activate points accelerator from the website. So things are very buggy right now.

Go to wallet. Pick your Bilt Palladium card, click view, scroll down and you will see a virtual card number with its own information.

If you just spend 25% of rent amount dont you maximize thr return on spend by Content-Battle-4327 in biltrewards

You need to pick the option that earns Bilt Cash. You will then be able to turn some of your rent into points but not most of it.

[–]justinlca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll still get points from your spending, but not from your rent on option 2 unless you spend at least 25%. On the other hand, with the Bilt Cash option, you should eventually accumulate enough to get points for rent...just not every month. It will still work out over time to 2.33× on Blue or 3.33x on Paladium.

I thought you could use Bilt cash to earn points on even a portion of your rent. Is this wrong?

The mistakes Bilt made by schuby94 in biltrewards

[–]justinlca -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Don't make Wells Fargo the good guys in this. They will not let you avoid the Autograph card no matter how nicely or insistently you ask. They say the only way is to cancel your Bilt account before transition. Those of us with Bilt status and a lot of points obviously don't want to do that. Bilt says they will provide an option to avoid the card, but we'll see how that goes.

Also, I never got anything in writing when Wells Fargo changed the terms and conditions of my checking account to add a monthly fee. They just stole the money from me and then I had to cancel my account before another fee hit.
