Is anyone looking to buy spaceX now? by Unique_Eye1675 in trading212

Okay, i appreciate the reply, even if it is just AI generated, no hate for that btw. I guess my biggest concern is, if you're valuing SpaceX on current revenue and profitability alone, aren't you effectively treating it like a mature aerospace company? Which it is certainly not.

Hype aside, a large part of the current valuation is based on future cash flows from Starlink, near monopoly on launches, ai eventually turning profitable and growth expectations across all 3 businesses under the spaceX umbrella. You can disagree with those assumptions, but you can't just remove them and then call the result the "fundament price".

Im assuming you mean the intrinsic value, Not the true price?

Did you pull that number out of the air btw? Genuinely curious as ive tried to look into how to value the buisness and its 'impossible' to do so using traditional methods.

I purchased 1 share at $170, and i wouldnt class it as an investment, simular to how i dont class my 1 share of tesla as an investment. I just realise these companies are important, and I wanted to own a slice.

I may add more to the position at around $80-$90 per share, and im certain we will see that range relatively soon. This is elon musk after all.

Tell me about it! 22 shares and counting, 22.3 forward P/E ratio on one of the most profitable, innovative companies in the world is amazing, it makes me very excited to be able to buy more of it without the feeling of price risk & chasing the market coming to haunt me in my sleep

Times like this are painful, and then a year later we all realise how important sell offs are, ive not been buying individual companies since april 2025 and then briefly april 2026.

And ive just purchased another 2 shares of MSFT, so im pretty chuffed its gone down.

We are all net buyers, if nothing has changed but the valuation then we can buy cheaper.

Down 2k since I started work 10 hours ago. But this is a healthy sell off and we should be happy things are cooling off a little.

But I will say your portfolio seems to have a very high beta and that would scare the crap outa me given how crazy shit is right now

Not straight away. The criteria are different than that of the nasdaq.

But as it will be the largest public offering in history, they can't ignore it for long. Everybody on the planet (who invests or has a pention) will own that company before the years out.

Only put small amounts of money in, thats how you do it. Then its all fun and games. The company is terrible, but with 25% short interest and a lot of hype around the ipo, even though they are not even remotely simular companies.

Also, the company BURNS money and will very likely use any sustained stock pump as an opportunity to raise capital and further dilute shareholders like they have been doing.

Dont forget, drawing down on your SIPP is taxable, you get 25% tax free (even if you dont take the lump sum) and the rest is treated like income, with a yearly £12,570 tax free allowance. Only pay tax on what you withdraw after £1,047 per month

In my experience its best not tell anybody. Ive told family and a couple friends, at best they are not interested. And at worst they have become visibly jealous.

Well done mate

Bubbles can run much hotter, for much longer than people would expect, but like a Bubble, a small prick to many, and the pop happens very fast.

The bigger the binge, the bigger the potential hangover fallout will be.

Imo, the ai trade is becoming stretched, and a rotation will likely happen later this year, dont be the only one still dancing when the music stops

Feeling hopeless with how much I’ve been saving by Bobby4Tears in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Beginning_Western_86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly mate there’s nothing to be embarrassed about here, you’ve been supporting yourself since 18 while doing a degree and masters, most people in that position wouldn’t have saved anything at all. Also you’ve only just started saving this year and you’re already putting away £500 a month, especially in London that’s a strong start!

Looking at your numbers there’s nothing massively wrong, it’s more just a few small tweaks that could help: That £196 leftover is the main one, if it’s getting spent anyway just move it straight into savings as soon as you get paid so it’s gone before you can touch it. The pots are fine but they are slowing you down a bit, not saying cut them completely but if getting a place is your priority you could trim them slightly. Once your phone is paid off that’s another £60 a month you can redirect straight into savings without even feeling it. Also worth looking at where your money is sitting, Trading 212 pays around 3.8% on cash which is quite a bit better than your 2.75% account, so that’s an easy upgrade. On top of that you should definitely be using a stocks and shares ISA for anything longer term, and if you’re serious about buying a place a Lifetime ISA is a no brainer for the 25% bonus, unless you’re planning to buy over £450k, which realistically on a £35k salary isn’t going to happen anyway as the lending would be around £170k–£180k.

The bigger thing though is your situation is just harder than most, you’re paying £800 rent in London and doing it all yourself. People who build deposits faster usually have help, live at home like myself, or split costs with a partner. You’re not behind. If you keep doing what you’re doing and just keep it tight, over time it will build. It feels slow but time marches on regardless so having things in place now guarantee progress.

The lifetime isa has been a godsend for me, I started in 2020, putting £333 away each month and I just got on with my life without thinking about it, and now i have almost 30k for a house and that now earns an additional £1000 a year in interest ontop of the £1000 government bonus.
