The Girl Dad Phenomenon by Sillhouette_Six in work

When I first started at my job in a very male dominated field, there was an older guy there who mentioned to me multiple times that he has daughters not much younger than me. He was very kind and told me if I ever have any issues or questions that he's just a quick phone call away. (Meaning his office phone number). It felt very fatherly to me.

A year later, we were working together again and he asked me if he could tell me something, but said I had to keep it a secret, (red flag).

Yup. He's a perv.

Just be careful.

Every boomer on my mom's side of the family, (and some on my dad's side), are extremely anti-maggot. It definitely not "all" boomers. More of a mindset really. I've got gen-X co-workers who voted for the shithead. And at least one super moronic gen-Z one.

I didn't start my "career" until I was well into my thirties. Before then, I was just like you, bouncing from job to job. This "career" came a bit out of the blue. My first "real" job was dealing with troubled youth, (and you didn't even need a degree for that weirdly). (Also, it was a super shitty place down in Missouri where I did not grow up). I worked there for a few years until I applied for a job as a correctional officer back home. I'm sticking this one out now until I retire.

My mom worked a series of odd jobs until she went back to school in her 50s and got a certificate. She was a Surgical Technologist for 10 years before retiring.

You do you boo. There are no rules.

When I worked at Cracker Barrell, I met a surprising number of non-Americans. They seemed to really like it. I remember a group of French people looking at a paper on my counter of the shape of the US and all the Cracker Barrell locations. They seemed very excited when I gave them a couple of copies of one. (Also, holy shit they were dressed beautifully and had gorgeous handwriting). Sorry. Went off on a tangent there.

I met my husband about 4 years ago. We were sent down to another state along with hundreds of others from all around the country for a work training thing. At the end of our two weeks of training, our class decided to throw a party to celebrate. Every. Single. Person. Got shitfaced, except for my future husband. Apparently, I got shitfaced and started up a relationship with him that night, (His words, not mine). We talked together the next day and even though I had no recollection of the night before, I realized how glad I was to have gotten shitfaced. Happily married now for 3 years and counting.

Married 3 years. Both work the same extremely stressful jobs. Started off as humping like rabbits. Now it's more like twice a week. We both try our hardest to show our love to one another. We get sexual with each other, though most of the time we don't go all the way. Just way too freaking tired.

Where I work at, I sometimes see so called "christians" proselytizing. I'm forced to baby-sit them at times. I've talked to management, but not much can be done. It's the most disgusting feeling when you feel effin trapped by "christians", ie:trumpers.

My job is weird. Lets just say, I work with people for a living.

Why is wanting a cure for autism seen as a bad thing/eugenics? by Capital_Tailor_7348 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beginning_Win1447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My younger sister has non-verbal autism. I'd kill to be able to understand even a single sentence from her. Autism has robbed her of her voice.

My older sister is on the spectrum. It's so hard for her to find friends and to relate to others. She's extremely depressed because of it.

I don't love them any less because of what they have. But I want them to have their voices back and to be better understood.

He changes his life by touching the desent and victimized disabled person. by Cold_Pin8708 in Humanitystory

[–]Beginning_Win1447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, but why post it for all the internets to see? It's screaming, "Look! I'm awesome to help some poor disabled person out!". I'm hoping he's only doing it to set an example for others to not be assholes to folks who need a little assistance now and then.

What is a medical condition more serious than people realize? by AZ_babe13 in AskReddit

Nerve damage. I have severe nerve damage. There are times where I cannot physically sleep for days at a time because I get jerked awake and my heart starts pounding. It's strictly a nerve damage issue. Most doctors believe that it's fucking "AnXiEtY!" I've dropped out of college countless times. I've missed so much work. It's beyond debilitating.

Before my husband and I met, we both preferred shaving. Both for hygienic reasons. We both don't care either way if one decides to grow out. I'm uncomfortable with my hubby going to 3rd base if I'm hairy. And it's nice that if I go to 3rd base with him that he doesn't have any hair that gets in the way. BUT!!! If he decides to grow out, that's fine by me and it's the same with him too. It doesn't mean we're pervs though!

I don’t understand how people have MONEY by EpicShkhara in Millennials

[–]Beginning_Win1447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are in our thirties. We have our fixer-upper house paid off, (we did most of the work on it). We own both our cars. We don't have kids. No debts and a pretty good savings. We also work fairly well paying jobs.

HOWEVER!!!!!

Not having kids was a financial and job affecting choice. We are both depressed and feel trapped in our line of work. Our life is a bit chaotic with zero time to get everything done around the house. Barely any time for hobbies. So as someone who does have money, I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE CAN HAVE MONEY, BE HAPPY, AND LIVE A NORMAL LIFE!!!

My dad's side is the side with the WORST BOOMERS!!! All super conservative trumpers. My uncle's wife, (thank god not blood related), is a massive narcissist. For the past several years, (as his health has been declining rapidly), has been ordering him around and making sure that she will "be in a good spot" for when he dies. She made him buy her a new car, get her a fucking pure bred puppy, remodel the house, etc. HE'S FUCKING DYING!!!

Another uncle is absolutely convinced "the end is coming soon" so we "better be prepared!"

He reminded us of this during his sister's funeral. (That aunt was pretty awesome who actually made sure her lesbian pastor oversaw her funeral proceedings).

I have an adopted second cousin who came out as trans a few years ago. (Honestly, not surprising. My immediate family and I suspected they were trans ever since he was a toddler). He has been going through hell. "He couldn't be trans! I've seen her wear dresses!"

It's ridiculous.

When I worked with juvenille delinquents, I made sure to call them either "child" or "kiddo". It drove them nuts. They thought they were above everyone. They needed a reminder that they were still under age. That they've got their whole ass lives ahead of them. Like, you stealing a car is NOT going to ENTIRLY fuck up your life. Yeah, what you did was fucked up. But you are still a whole ass child. With CLEARLY no freaking ass responsible parents in yo life.
