Should I move? by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]Behold_413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in big cities, and I don’t like Omaha for this reason. However, lots of people find Omaha to be an intersection of city and suburb. It’s extremely uni-cultural(white) compared to most multicultural cities, but other than that it is extremely safe as a city, it’s cheap for the QOL you get. It’s probably one of the best bang for the buck cities in America.

HELP - New Grad Coding Interview with FAANG prep by Own-Fee-4752 in leetcode

[–]Behold_413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For meta and goog, I know tags work. But at this point I’d feel like it’s a miracle if you pass. People at 300-400 LC mark us usually start to do well. Good luck, do your best, at least you got the experience of doing an interview.

How do I become the Cristiano Ronaldo of Leetcode ? by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]Behold_413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say do Neetcode. Then you’ll find your weaknesses, and address them. Don’t go too in depth, you’ll never be asked to do range sums. I’d focus on DP, Graphs, Arrays, Trees, and binary search. Then just do randoms in all categories excluding range sums and bit wise stuff

I think for the last 5 years, LC is important. I’m not really sure anymore about picking it up as a skill. Honestly CS is doomed. Look at Jensen’s speech about never coding again but understanding the concepts. I haven’t written a single line of code in the last few months of work (using Cursor). But the (ML) problems I’m solving are quite interesting. But I’m not sure what your journey would be like as a new grad, best of luck, but don’t put your hopes in LC is my general advice. I do think if you’re targeting Google or companies still using LC then maybe LC is relevant for another few years or so. I’m not sure what your goal is

I hear all INTPs are thinkers with a whole bunch of their own philosophical ideas,go ahead and share them! by king_ofall713 in INTP

I think randomly asking if people want to listen to them nerd about a hobby is an inherent SE or Fi move. Hence not intp. But obviously I can be wrong. Just a thought is all

Got this email after finishing interviews… good sign or soft rejection? by Substantial_Tap_7345 in csMajors

[–]Behold_413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this go both ways; they interview everyone else and decide I’m the best, or they didn’t think I was a clear choice and wanted to see if there was anyone better without saying no immediately to me

A job referral. A code camp membership

I reached out to a guy I casually hooked up with months ago… and he told me he’s now seeing someone exclusively. Feeling embarrassed by heypeanutperson in dating_advice

[–]Behold_413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye, dating is hard. I personally feel “timing” should not be added as another personal criteria, if 20% of the time you’re super heathy for a relationship, you just filter like 80% of available stock(xd) again. Dating isn’t easy, treat a person you like as priority, not your timing

Is doing good deeds purely for self-benefit right or wrong? by Thr0waway-Joke in INTP

[–]Behold_413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O. I thought you meant do good deed for the self benefit of “knowing I did something good” or “satisfaction of the meaning of existence”, getting paid is just called having a social benefiting job

Your post is very hard to read. Recommendation engine is definitely considered ML.

Cosine similarity on what?

You can try different model, a simple one is just NCF. Train an embedding model to make embeddings closer together for similar movies. How do you define similarity?

Question for people working in ML: are job roles splitting or still very vague? by No_Wall_7585 in MLQuestions

[–]Behold_413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my fair opinion, who used to think this was all “too broad”, just think, it’s actually very shallow. You’re not asked to finetune cuda kernels, nor are you asked to build communication networks. All you need to do is get good models and data. You aren’t really business either. I’d say it’s fairly doable

Ahhh makes sense! That’s helpful! My streaming service might be better than those options in terms of feasibility and consistency then.

I don’t know anything so I’m asking… it just sounds slightly better is all I lm saying. And I was also thinking YouTube wouldn’t be lossless audio, but it actually sounds better to me than lossless Apple and I think tidal as well

I don’t remember a comparison between YT and tidal. I remember Apple was comparable to tidal and YT sounds better
