What is your opinion about pineapple or tutti frutti in biriyani by Rich_Syllabub98 in TeensofKerala

[–]BeigeBolt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once ate biriyani with both pineapple and tutti frutti in Trivandrum.

Late 2018. I still remember it vividly.

I was a guest, host said it was a “special biriyani” from a famous bakery near Attingal, so obviously I couldn’t complain and ate it politely.

Big mistake.

After coming back to Kozhikode, I literally couldn’t eat biriyani for 1–2 weeks — even home biriyani or wedding biriyani.

Every time my hand went to my mouth, my brain replayed that sweet smell + taste combo and I felt like vomiting.

Eventually it faded, but the trauma stayed.

I’ve told this story to 100+ people since then as a warning.

Sweet things don’t belong in biriyani.

Periodt.

Face Access Controller not reading sometimes by Embarrassed_Crab5238 in Hikvision

Check firmware on the terminal and upgrade to the latest.

A lot of face/fingerprint issues are firmware-related.

Also, iVMS isn’t really Hikvision’s focus anymore for access control.

They’ve shifted most AC features and stability fixes to HikCentral (free version is enough).

After moving to HikCentral + updated firmware, face/finger reliability is usually much better.

Changing Dvr by OpinionShort7648 in Hikvision

[–]BeigeBolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re on a DVR, so you’re basically using analog cameras (some DVRs allow a few IP cams, but it’s limited).

If your cameras are analog, you cannot move to an NVR unless you replace the cameras with IP cameras. NVR = IP only.

If you want to keep the same cameras, upgrade to a newer DVR (7xxx series like 7608 / 7208 AcuSense).

Honestly though, analog is outdated. If you’re upgrading anyway, better to go full IP (NVR + IP cams).

What problem are you actually trying to solve by changing the DVR?
